Need to add to the NJ trade I would assume. I think they have a pretty full left side D as it is.

Other than that everything looks good. I would keep MacEwan personally but I understand there is only so much room.

Maybe instead of signing Blake Coleman, Canucks sign a centreman to play 3C? That way you can keep the lotto line intact

Imo, NJD is also dumping cap. AJ is overpaid and has 2 years left on that deal. In terms of actual dollars and cap space its almost even tbh

We may have different definitions of the word "good" or even the word "actually" haha you cant convince me his 12Gs and 31PTS in the last 2 seasons are worth 3.4m for 2 more years. Agreed about Loui though

Yo AJ has decent underlying numbers and can easily turn his production around. You are severely underselling VAN need to shed salary to sign the guys and the value of cap space itself, Benning has no leverage in this situation. Nucks need to send Fitzy a hell of a lot more to make this work otherwise NJD cap space will just be sold to someone else capable of putting a serious offer forward.

This isn't true. There are other ways around this for VAN. I have seen a ton of ACGMs for NJD that have AJ being sold off. Its clear NJD fans want to move off of him.

Regardless, by the reaction this has received, I see this isn't a fair deal (at least not to NJD fans). I think VAN is better off either buying LE out or trading him & retaining and using that money to sign someone better than AJ for cheaper.

Ottawa declines. There's no spot for him.

We talking Roussel? Its a 4th round pick to use 2m of cap space for a season... If its MacEwen then thats fair but thats why I noted that that trade would occur with any team.

Yes. Sorry, I meant the MacEwen trade. As for Roussel, I'd dislike it, but I could see Ottawa taking that deal IF Roussel didn't block it himself with his no-trade list.
