If Vince Dunn gets taken by Seattle, I'd assume a deal could start around Valimaki. But it really depends which direction St. Louis chooses to go after this season. I personally think they need to tear it down and rebuild, but you never know

I don’t think the flames would be willing to trade valimaki they are expecting him to be a top pairing defensemen, they weren’t even willing to trade him for mark stone.

Also not happening if Gio is taken. Who would be our 2nd pairing LD if he is? UFA signing? Player through trade?

Unfortunately Calgary doesn't have much to offer outside of him. If St. Louis really tears it down you might be able to convince them with prospects, but for a young NHL centre like Thomas it would take a top prospect and Calgary doesn't have any high end prospects. It likely wouldn't work out between the 2 sides

I dont think the Blues need to tear down as much as they need to do a retool, similar to Boston 2014/2015. ROR and Tarasenko are signed for two more seasons, Schenn for 7 (if only they could get out of that contract) as well as Krug and Faulk.
Blues won't be trading Thomas though. At least not for the next season unless the name coming back is huge (like Tkachuk). Otherwise, he stays put.
