Assuming Seattle takes Burns, I'd love to see Mantha on the Sharks.

Tom Wilson reminds me a lot of the old Marchand.

Amazing player, great skill. But dirty.

With the type of hockey Toronto plays, I’m not sure if Wilson would be a guy they’d target.

I’m not too sure how well he’d work in the locker room either, considering how the Leafs’ guys are.

But also considering the type of hockey the Leafs play, maybe Wilson’s game would change and he’d become more reliant on skill. Obviously still throwing the body around, but not in the media for a questionable hit every week.

Wilsonwas able to put up numbers with Kuzy and Backstrom as his center... i can only imagine what he'll do playing with Matthews. i bet he can s core 60-70 easily

Backstrom is amazing but this is precisely the type of deal the wild are not going to do. Give up basically a draft+ For the twilight of someone’s amazing career. Backstrom will be great for another 3ish years, maybe 4, but those are not the years the wild would want.

Also that’s much more than he’s worth, but I recognize the value is skewed because you added parise which probably accounts for Marat and a 1st. Even still can’t picture the wild making a move like this as they’ve been trending towards youth.

probably added a lot but i love BAckstrom so my biases clearly showing lol

just think Backy would be great for this team since their Dcore isnt "young" and they likely will want to win now. He's also a great guy for Rossi to be around and learn from

Wild aren't going to be doing this. Backstom isn't worth that. Also wild aren't going to be trading pieces for a 30's player when wild have been going younger..so respectfully wild say no

Also parise isn't waiving for Washington, neither are wild going to give up that much asset to move him

Totally agree. Rossi spent all his time in mn living with vanek to understand wild play and the city. Luckily vanek was his childhood hero. Rossi has a long way to go but I expect the wild to make a play for a solid early 20’s center, maybe Dvorak or Dylan strome or someone like that. Not as good as backstrom but fits their m.o.

Myocarditis can have lasting impacts on the heart and cardio vascular capacity. All depends on how he bounces back from all that stuff. 6 months of training like he did before the draft leading to training camp and he could be a top 6C from the jump. If it really hurt him he might need a year or two of further seasoning if he can get back at all. Trust me I’ve watched house m.d.

I don't think the Sharks have the assets. They won't give up a first for him.

    They'd offer a 2nd, 3rd, prospect (chmelevski?), and maybe Donato? That's awful.

I’m not denying that. He’s an amazing player.

I’m not sure he’d mesh well given his type of play compared to the Leafs type of play.
