I would think CBJ plans on keeping Merz and trading Korpi? Would love to hear a CBJ fan chime in here. Eigther way not sure if i'm a hige fan of giving up that much for Merz given that he's a UFA after this year and i'm not sure he's all that much better than Lankinen.

Deal would have to happen after expansion so we can protect Lankinen. CBJ would protect Merz and hope Korpi doesn't get taken I guess? not sure if the logistics of all that would even work

Merz or Korpi, either or. Hawks do need an upgrade in net. Someone to really challenge Lankinen to push him and see what he's really got.

So lots to unpack here. First, Merzy has a higher celling then Korpi, so yes it would be good to keep him, however we have Tarasov in Cleveland whos supposed to be better. So I think the CBJ will take the higher return on either goalie and wait till tarasov is ready in 22-23. As far as expansion, Korpi would be protected and Merz is ineligible for it (thats why he has alittle added value). I dont know much about Lankinen just that he got better as the season went on, so the hawks would have to determine if hes their guy. Elvis will be a starter (maybe even elite) in the league and his personality is a marketing dream. Can strome be a 1c? I dont think so but he could be a good 2c or 3c for us. I think a 3rd instead of a second would be fair

Canucks decline. After what he did to Daniel this would be another Messier situation

Very true. Keith also has a history in the market in Vancouver and with the Sedins. Can't see him joining the team if the Sedins are in the front office.

Keith can really go anywhere really .. maybe Florida is a better option to reunite with Q. I just think it's time they move on from him. If the Hawks really want to start a new era they need to part with the long timers and something of value while they can.

Ultimately, it's Keith's decision if he wants to go and to where. I can't see him wanting to be traded outside of Florida. Keith loves playing for Chicago as been reported many times, but could see him in Florida as he loves coach Q.

Try more like 7 x $8,750,000 for Dougie Hamilton, For what you're signing him for he stays in Carolina. If he heads to free agency there will be a major bidding war on him.

Deal wouldn't happen because Strome isn't the sort of center we need (we need either a bonafide #1C or a "heavy minutes shield"). And Merzlikins is exempt from the draft lottery.

Strome won't be a 1C but he definetly can play 2C. Strome and a 3rd for Merz is a definite accept for the hawks. Only problem would be that I remember merz saying it was tough splitting the net with Korpi and if he was in Chicago with Lankinen it would porobably be another split the net situation
