32nd pick? So... Stanley cup champions? With Seattle coming in it would be 33. Because Lottery doesn't affect 2nd-7th round

Arizona's pick is forfeited. So yes, theres 1 less pick in the 1st round

I'd imagine it will take more than what you're sending to LA to move into the top-10. I dont see this draft as more than 8-9 players deep, and the drop-off from Clarke (if he's even available -- which as the only top-ranked RHD, I kind of doubt he will be) to whoever will be available at 13 should be pretty significant.

Besides, the Kings are very much in the "Quality over Quantity" portion of their rebuild.

Rust isn’t worth nearly that much, especially since he is a free agent next year. And Desmith isn’t either.

All fair points, I would have done BUFs 1st and 2nd however, i traded the 2nd to PIT in the Rust deal.

Beniers isn't going #1. With that pick you pick the best player available, that's Owen Power.

The fact that we're not going off about a bad Eichel trade is impressive. I actually think this is a solid return for both sides. Well done, man! Reinhart trade isn't bad either. I don't think Pittsburgh moves Rust, but realistically, should you be giving up picks for a 1 year rental anyway? I'd say LA would stick with their pick as well. If Clarke is gone, I have them as a sleeper to take Wallstead.

If we didnt have Dahlin I would agree with you, but I dont see them grabbing Power with #1 if we get it

That Pitt trade doesn't make sense for the sabres.

Rust would not be putting up his numbers in buffalo

You don't draft based on positional need. You draft based on best player available. Power is #1 by a good margin. Then you're d-core is more well rounded with both Dahlin and Power. It's dumb to take a player based on his position rather than his skill level

What makes you think that Clarke is falling to 8th OA? Depending on who's on the board when Detroit picks at 6th OA or 7th OA they would probably take Clarke even though we don't need RD.
