Regular Habs fan magic trick, moving scraps and picks and suddenly gaining a top pair D-man and a top-6 center in exchange.

habs issue just isn't goal scoring, its natural goal scoring. Suzuki will give that, caufield will, and hoffman will. the only game breaker here is caufield, but imo he's still 2-3 years away from being a legit respected nhl 30-40+ goal scorer

Don't want Drouin. Would rather keep Kuzy.

I don't care about having a player that can score 30+ goals, I just want a team that can score more than 3 goals a game and this team would be able to do that

i think your gm accepts. he wants that center. KK is only 20. he'll be a stud by the time he's 22-23

Not enough value for Kuznetsov. I don’t know why the Canadiens are getting a net positive on picks here. I’m not sure I’d even trade Kuzy alone for Drouin and a first. Caps decline this offer.

Oh no, how will we ever unload our 70 point center making 7.8M a year for the next four years. Who would ever want to take on such a fair contract?? cry

If he's not a stud right now, Werenski isn't going to be part of the deal. We expect to have Werenski as part of the core for years to come.

in a normal season, yeah not an issue, but with a flat cap, + his off ice antics, + his drop in production this year doesn't make his value that high.

“Off ice antics” lmao. He’s fine. We’ll keep him if nobody really wants him. You don’t sneeze away a 1C. Do the fans want to see him traded? Yes, because trades are exciting. He doesn’t need to be traded though and he will bounce back next year.

Eh? Laine has out and out said he likes it here and would love to stay. The question of whether or not we keep him long term is by and large our call - we have his rights, he'll almost certainly get QOed or similar, and if he can't bounce back he'll likely get sent off for the sorts of firesale prices some folks are already trying to beg out of us.
