The above second line is ridiculously good. I think the Caps accept Liljegren+2nd for Vanecek. I don't know if they're quite winning Amirov and a 1st for Wilson, but if you put the two together, so they can pretend they got three 1st picks of value for Wilson, nobody's going to criticize them, and it opens up enough cap space to re-sign Ovechkin without taking away from their already thin depth at center or RD. So the question then becomes whether the rest of the team is tough enough to lose Wilson and contend. I don't know. But maybe they can pick someone else up to help out?

Doesn't the Seattle draft happen relatively soon? I'm assuming any goalie acquisition whether it may be through trades or free agency happens after the draft

Seattle draft is two days before the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. And to be fair if WSH hasn't dealt Vanecek until that point, he'll almost certainly end up in Seattle.

Although to be fair, SEA would probably be willing to move Vanecek for that same return there.

If I'm Seattle, and I have to pick three goalies, and Campbell gets added to the guys already out there, I'm hitting accept on Holtby and a 4th, Allen and a 5th, Hill, and Kerfoot+7th. In the 2016-17 season, Holtby recorded more wins than Campbell has in his career. For the third time.

That's 5 years ago. No one cares at this point what Holtby did that long ago. Last two years he has been barely a 0.89 goalie. Simply, not good enough.

I do think WSH will deal Vanecek to confirm they don't lose him for free, likely to EDM, SJ or BUF, who has no good goalies to protect. As for the goalies SEA takes...I'm betting on Kuemper+Allen+Kivlenieks/Berdin.
