It's easy to think the Oilers got absolutely scammed by salary cap standards in the Gretzky trade, but imagine what $55 million worth of players would look like today...

Well the 55m doesn't the hockey club. Pocklington was broke and the 20m he received from LA owner Bruce McNall went to fund his failing enterprises.

Interesting that both Pocklington and McNall spend time in jail for embezzment or similar crimes. Spending other people's money for the personal use of Pocklington and McNabb. I admit, I found NHL ownership was a more "fun" a generation ago. Individuals owners instead of nameless corporations.

LMFAO You can't compare a trade that happened over 30 years ago, There's no freaking way Vancouver can afford to add McDavid plus give big contracts to Hughes and Pettersson. Besides McDavid would starts with both Hughes and Petterson not Miller and Demko and picks.
