Description
Kuzy has some baggage, Schenner's deal has 7 more years... wonder if either team would look at this to spark something.

Just a thought, I'm ready to see a shakeup this offseason. I love what Schenn brings but what if bringing Kuzy and Tarasenko together unlocks some of their vintage magic? Chief would probably blow a gasket watching Kuznetsov though.

The only issue I see with this is the fact that the Western Conference is such a physical, hard hitting conference and that edge is what has been winning in the playoffs with the notable exception being Pittsburgh. But the last few years physical dominance has been the winning formula. Schenn is the only one who brings a ton of physicality and skill to the forefront. I like Kuzy's skill, but Blues need Schenn's physicality

Yep, need both. Schenn gives you both in one package, but I think you could add Kuzy and then get the energy from the rest of the lineup (Coleman, Kostin, Sunny, Barby, Blais). I tried to set the lines up where there is a high-energy guy on each line to complement the skill guys. A guy with Kuzy's skill doesn't become available that often; it would suck to lose Schenn - Chief was just talking yesterday about how he's a good leader and a guy that the younger guys use to be heard - but only for the next couple of years. As Kuzy's deal is coming to an end, Schenn will still have 3 yrs left and it will probably be immovable at that point. That's really the only thing that makes this interesting to me.

Completely agree on the length/cost front. From that perspective I love the trade. I dont know if it helps us win though. But it would be nice to see Tarasenko with a center who can match his ability if healthy.

It's funny that so many Blues fans insist we need to get faster, but then so many AGMs here want us to sign Oleksiak. I don;t get it.

Big =/= Slow, he gets around fine, better than Faulk/Krug/Scandella/Bortuzzo IMO. I don't care if they sign someone to play D or not, I just had some extra cap room. Looking at the UFA D-men, it's hard to find many that can skate but that can also play hockey grimace.

Haha, what??? Dude... he's slow. It's hardly a secret. And he certainly doesn't skate as well as the first three guys you mentioned. Probably not Bortz, as well.
