After losing to the Jets in round 2: Ducharme and Bergevin fired, I am hired as president of hockey operations and GM, and I hire Gerard Gallant as head coach
Notable Exposures: Allen, Weber
Selected by Seattle: Pay a 2022 1st, 2023 2nd and Ryan Poehling to get Seattle to take on the remainder of Weber’s contract
NHL Entry Draft: With the 17th overall pick in the 2021 draft, the Montreal Canadiens are proud to select, Aatu Raty
Buyout window: Brett Kulak bought out
Prior to free agency: All RFA's except Lehkonen given QO's, Belzile and Perry only UFA's extended, Ikonen signed to ELC before his rights expire
Kuznetsov trade: Habs desperately need a 1C, and so i trade away a 1st and Kotkaniemi to bring in a proven 80 point centerman in Kuzy
Manson trade: Since I shipped Weber to Seattle, it opens up a big hole in the top 4. A rental like Manson would really help fill the hole for a year before Cale Fleury steps into that role
Wennberg signing: All good cup contenders need a good 3C, Wennberg is a good 3C and wont break the bank.
Other signings: You dont have a good team without good depth. Rielly Sheahan is signed for the 4th line LW role, while guys like Boyd, Hutton and Nieto can be called upon in case of an injury or rest days

Why would Caufield / Romanov be given an A? just because they're good doesn't make them one of the best leaders in the locker room as a rookie / sophomore player. Why give up big assets for Manson when he probably walks as a UFA in 1 year? , the Weber trade isn't realistic and I don't see the point in bringing in Kuzy and giving up KK. Kuzy is closer to a 65 point man than an 80 point one, Why buyout Kulak when you can probably get a 5th or 6th for him? I'm just baffled honestly.

ANA wants a 1st for Manson, which i cant give cuz i used both 1st in the Weber/Kuzy trades, so thats the best i could do to match a 1st
We're not good and possibly a lottery team the next 2 years.......two possible/guaranteed superstars are available in the next two drafts......you have gotten rid of both of them......this is not good
