Offseason After Shattenkirk

Created by: Arom5477
Team: 2017-18 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 21, 2017
Published: Jan. 21, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
That is what I think the offseason would look like if a deal was made for Shattenkirk the season before.

But, boy, is that a skilled lineup.

I think Schultz will price himself out of Pittsburgh with the way he's playing. But, if Shattenkirk doesn't re-sign, then by all means put that $$ over to Schultz to keep him in PIT.

And I believe those are fair evaluations. Let me know what you think.

That's a big assumption that the Blues take on all the money 5.75m in Fleury and of course Fehr and his 2m on the books for next year and no money going back to the Pens.

STL goal tending is in damage control right now. they know their goalies are not going to get them far in the playoffs. They are the ones in a position of weakness.

6.5 will probably be the starting point for the bidding war for Shattenkirk this offseason. As for STL, palhal is right, Blues aren't going to keep almost 10 million in goalies next season. Only way they take Fleury is if they move Allen, and it can be argued that Allen is still a more valuable trade chip than Fleury is at this point.

Shattenkirk wont be signing that garbage contract, Talk is Detroit already talking about offering him 7 years $49 million so that's the starting point. And besides Pittaburgh wasn't listed among the teams that he would sign long term with any ways.

I love all these Sheary getting $3+ Million contracts. You do realize that if he's not on Crosby wing, he's in the minors his whole life right??? He has chemistry with Crosby I'll admit that but he might be a $1-1.2mil/year player at best.
