Marner is one of the best play drivers in the league and is also great defensively so to say his value isn't high at all is the stupidest thing I have ever heard

You can sit there and say he's one of the best play driving drivers in the league but hey guess what? Come play off time, that stuff don't matter. Either finish the play and produce or you're not doing your job. & when you're paid almost $11M per season to do it, I'm sorry but underlying numbers don't mean anything in playoffs. Produce or go home.

It's not that his value is low, it's just not gonna be what people expect it to be. Back to back weak playoff performances and a high contract make it incredibly hard to trade him, so it lowers his value. that's how the league works.

either way, when you make almost 11 mil a year you need to be a top 10 player consistently. Landeskog, Rantanen, both Tkachuk boys, Pastrnak, Svechnikov, Kucherov, Huberdeau, Marchand, Panarin, are all better wing options imo for different reasons (mostly cap hit). I would even throw in Kakko, Kaprizov, and Laf as well. Kane too except for his age.

This is not even including centers and defensemen. So not a top 10 player

lol you are crazy. All the players I listed can get the same production playing next to Mathews, but all cost much less except Kane and Panarin. If you are going to make 10.9 mil a year you are going to have to be held at a higher standard, especially if you don't play center

My top 10 winger list to gives some context; 1. Marchand 2. Stone 3. Panarin 4. Kucherov (those 4 are all interchangeable) 5. Marner 6. Rantanen 7. Pastrnak 8. Huberdeau 9. Guentzel 10. Kane.

And about your point about him playing with matthews almost all the players in my top 10 play with an elite linemate. Only one that doesn't is Kane. And Marner is the best playmaker in the league (panarin is close) and Matthews is the best goal score so to me they compliment each other and feed off each other.
