He will get his fair contract but if he takes 2m less aav so he can give it to Landeskog, or Makar, or whatever guy to that helps keep the core together, thats more important.

I dont think a top 3 player in the league who has been dominated over the past 3-4 years is going to be hurting for cash in his next life.

I also think MacKinnon learned from Crosby, who knows, MacKinnons family is gonna be taken care of for decades (fincacilly). He'll take less because he knows winning a cup is better than "a slightly bigger house" or an extra 0 in the bank.

That team is special and I think they got some great "guys'. Landeskog, Mackinnon are great leaders and theres already guys who have already bought in.

and MacKinnon wants his cups to cement his legacy and compete with Crosby. they are best friends but I think Crosbys legacy gives MacKinnnon his fire to compete, he wants to be just as good as he is since they are both from the same town.

Winning is all that matters to him, stil funny how he won the lady byng bc hes a competitive asshole on the ice who will bark at his own team mates haha

Yup, spittin chiclets podcasts with Mac and Crosby shared a lot of insight.

I hope they win a cup this year because if they do; I think EVERYONE will commit to the buy in (even if they somehow haven't already). They will help grow the sport but moreso show off some actually fun hockey to watch.

Also I love Grubauer and if he can win something while healthy it'll be great to see. Especially with all the "made of glass" flack some people gave him/ the avs prior to this playoff run. He's been smooth and a rock behind them.

its wild...this is the deepest team the avs have been in a long time, but arguably this is not even the best team during their cup window. Byram and Newhook taking strides as early as next season can take them to a whole new level, its a wild thing to project with that type of talent being added to an already stacked team. As long as they have health, I really dont think there isa team in the league taht can match the Avs when they are playing their best.

Grubauer deserves it. You are right, he got so much slack about last year being this injury prone guy. He got ran over in the playoffs in his own crease. What can he do?
If he can pull this off, he will be a 2 time stanley cup winner, 1 as a back up, 1 as a starter going into UFA. he will get PAID. Hopefully its a done deal with the avs, but cant fault him if he goes for big money

I have a feeling the Avs will be another Chicago/Pittsburgh type dynasty team. There's an incredible amount of talent within that organization.

its an unfair amount of talent lol, but everything is earned in this league. colorado has the best Gm out there. makar, byram, girard, toews, timmins, mackinnon, raantanen, kadri, landeskog. im just curious to see what happens when they run into cap issues.
