After a day to think about it

Created by: Dlowe5

Description
I also would heavy consider trading Marner if it made sense for the team, but would not just trade him to trade him like a lot of people want to do. I also know that I’m over the cap but that’s do to the fact of having extras (leafs seem to not carry often) and the uncertainty around Marner. If not traded lots of contracts could be slightly adapted.

Im sure you could get a pick for Ilya however we aren't giving up one. We have plenty of NHL calibre 3rd liners

Yea ik, while u do he’s a guy who I know can slide up and down the lineup and play with speed, however I can easily respect that u see it that way and if not then someone for sure.

Not happy with the current state of the Leafs? So you resign 5 Leaf UFAs, 3 UFAs whose teams never made past round one and Coleman.

As a leafs fan of course I’m not. But I’m not overly drastic, as I said. The 5 guys I brought back showed they have heart and want to win and r good pieces to the puzzle. The other 3 guys and Coleman r good hard nosed guys who improve the bottom six and a solid tandem goalie partner for Campbell and to push him.

Sorry but I don’t see any team paying a 3rd for a guy very likely to be picked in the Expansion Draft if untraded. At least the Sharks aren’t interested in paying that much.

Dermotts more likely to be picked imo. And the sharks would be if they don’t go into a rebuild mode imo again. Would fit nice in the 3C hole behind couture and hertl, and even play the wing if need be.

We do need a 3C, but I think there are a few better, cheaper options out there in free agency. I don't think you're wrong per se and you're not asking for anything crazy, but I wouldn't pull the trigger.

when engvall, kerfoot, and mikheyev were together they were a very good third line. i really don't get trading them but i've seen a ton of guys wanting them all gone.

It’s all about tinkering after another disappointing early exit. I like them all as players I just think they need to switch a bit up.
