Trades
1.
SJS
  1. Beckman, Adam
  2. Dumba, Matt
  3. 2021 1st round pick (MIN)
  4. 2021 6th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Dumba has a 10 team no-trade list, either waives on the promise of more playing time or San Jose isn't on his list. San Jose flips him to a contender while retaining 50% either at the TDL, the offseason, or next year's trade deadline
MIN
  1. Hertl, Tomas
  2. 2021 4th round pick (TOR)
  3. 2022 7th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Hertl has 3 team trade list, waives to get off the Sharks and onto a playoff contender.

Sharks could also possibly retain 50% for a mid round pick or an older prospect.
2.
SJS
SEA
  1. Simek, Radim
Additional Details:
Expansion draft pick .

This could go many different ways as I see many different possibilities such as Balcers, Gambrell, Gregor, which I view as the most likely to happen.

Seattle could also take on Burns or Jones and get a hefty haul for doing so, but it is not as likely to happen. For the sake of realism, Seattle takes Simek, who I figured was going to Seattle as soon as he got extended
3.
SJS
  1. Konecny, Travis
  2. Patrick, Nolan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Nolan has disappointed in his first three years and a change of scenery would likely benefit him.

Konecny seems like a great buy low candidate, especially when Philly is desperate for defense. I could be underrating him here, as I didn't watch a lot of Flyers hockey this year.
PHI
  1. Dumba, Matt
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (SJS)
  3. 2022 5th round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Going to a team that is RD needy, Dumba could step in and be one of Philly's best dmen right away. The Sharks would sell high, while buying low on Konecny and hoping for a Nolan rebound.
4.
SJS
  1. Reinhart, Sam [RFA Rights]
  2. 2022 6th round pick (BUF)
  3. 2022 7th round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
With Eichel (hopefully) coming back, Mittelstadt, and Cozens down the center, Reinhart becomes expendable to Buffalo. They get much needed winger help in Meier, who would benefit from a change of scenery.

(This could be Mittlestadt instead, and in that scenario I would have Buffalo adding more. I'm still a bit higher on Mittlestadt then most, just because I think he can grow as he is only 22. I honestly have no clue what Buffalo's plan would be, but this makes some sense to me.)
BUF
  1. Meier, Timo
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
After having a great run when the Sharks went to the WCF, Meier hasn't been as dominant and impactful as before. Failing to live up to the Shark's expectation of becoming a top line winger, Meier gets another shot in Buffalo.

(I thought about this trade for hours at work. I just couldn't think of a team that would take Meier. To me, Buffalo makes the most sense, but I could be completely off in my thought process. Please let me know if I am completely wrong.)
5.
SJS
  1. Neal, James
  2. 2021 6th round pick (PIT)
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
The Oilers get out from Neal's horrendous deal by adding a Second, and add some decent depth that has some upside. This is more about shedding Neal then acquiring Donato.
EDM
  1. Donato, Ryan
Additional Details:
iirc, there was a report that the Sharks were likely not going to bring Donato back. He was great on the powerplay, but not amazing at even strength for the Sharks. They sign and trade him to the Oilers, who desperately need middle 6 depth.
6.
SJS
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (CAR)
  2. 2022 4th round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Besides Svechnikov, the Canes don't have many great LW's. They pay a small price to improve their forward group, and Labanc likely outplays the deal with better company / coaching.
CAR
  1. Labanc, Kevin
Additional Details:
As with Meier, I'm not exactly sure who would take Labanc. However, I think Carolina would be a great fit, and Labanc would likely rebound with a change of scenery and less pressure on him to perform. He would slot in and make a great top 9.
7.
SJS
  1. 2021 7th round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
Please save me from Doug Wilson and Bob Boughner. All I know is pain.
CAR
  1. 2022 7th round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
I meant to give Reinhart 3 years and not 1.

While it may seem like I'm doing a "NHL Franchise Mode" rebuild, I think this is really the only way they should go. As much as I would love to build around guys like Hertl, Labanc, and Meier, they are really the only assets that would be worth anything that I would be willing to trade (Ferraro would be worth something, but I don't think you trade him unless you get a great offer). I had fun making this, and I'm sure there is plenty of things that I got wrong. Feel free to comment your thoughts and opinions, I'll likely end up making a revised version in the future!

Tomas isn't worth three 1st round pick especially for a player whose 1 year away from free agency, & doesn't put alot of stats for 1c

While wild need C's, not worth overpaying

This may be the most reasonable Neal dump I’ve seen on here, and it’s really nicely thought out,
I think the oilers would also be interested in Labanc considering their LW situation

Oilers accept

Reticent to critique such an articulate AGM but

SJ don't get anything for Donato ultimately

(50th overall pick unloads Neal)

And they have 1.9M$ of Neal on their books in 2025

When it's time for them to compete again

Ideally with players like Donato

😐

It's not a stupid thing no matter how you think of it, it's a fact.

Tomas h having 1 year left isn't going to get that much value

never said he was going to get that much. im saying equating the players with your made up value of picks and then using said picks to judge the trade is a dumb thing to do.

Why? The value of dumba,,& ask of dumba has always been a 1st round pick,,& more

Wild's 2021 1st round pick speaks for itself

Adam Beckham is one of those top prospects for wild, & in NHL? When is the next time teams traded top prospects for cheap

Very curious why you think different

Buffalo is most likely going into a sell and rebuild. Right now the Sabers have nothing to draw in UFAs . With the way Sam and Jack contracts are structured it's best to move them before the start of the season and by mid season at the latest. Jack at the end of the season his no movement clauses kicks in and makes him harder to trade. Sam is a UFA in June, so if he signs a 1 or 2 year contract you are not going to get much for him. So it's best to clean house and move on with some of the younger guys

I may be a pessimistic fan but I really don't see the Sharks competing by 2025, but I get what you mean.

I think they could get a bit more for taking on Neal, but I wouldn't be surprised if DW is desperate for some picks and just takes what he can get for a player he wasn't planning on bringing back anyways.
