Take Terry out of it and add a mid level prospect from EDM to ANA

Rental Rickard (nine goal) Rakell isn't going to get more than a 1st. Likely not even that.

Why would Seattle take a cap dump in Koskinen when Jones will already be exposed?

Guys like Stalock will be on waivers... no need for Tampa to send a prospect like Stephens to acquire.

Anaheim wouldn't be trading its two best right-handed forwards (such as they are) in the same deal.

Rakell for the 19th or 20th overall selection (which is where Edmonton's is locked in) is fair. I don't think that we would ask for, or get, more.

I made a comment on my protection list. Assume Klefbom is exempt because of injury or Oilers do not protect him - Oilers protect Jones. That is were the Kosk/ jones come into play.

As for Stalock, I would keep him until season, he is signed for a cheap year, Tampa would need to find players like that. Would Stalock get to Tampa on the Waiver wire? I do not think so, hence the trade.

I think at that point Seattle just grabs Benson. Why take on an atrocious contract like that to get a 3rd pairing D vs a decent forward prospect. Oilers would have to throw in a real asset to make that happen. And based on conversations last year the price to eat salary was high... not sure what the consensus is this year but probably a 1st or 2nd+prospect to take that kind of salary.

Also, would acquiring Caleb Jones help Seattle maybe land Seth? just a though.
