Why is Columbus adding picks?

That's a horrible deal for DET. Remove the picks from both sides and its a solid maybe but IDK why either side would do this

Cuz that's a haul from wings of young mid 20s players & a 1st .. Werenski alone isn't getting that back alone need to refill the picks stock some.. (Bertuzzi is 25-30 goal player) just like marchand type pest ..great playoff type player with grind but skill & finish ..

Bertuzzi’s career high is 21 goals. He’s a good 2nd line player but he’s one year away from FA with no deal in pace.

Fabbri is a decent 3rd liner, and cholowski is a depth defensemen. You could remove them from the trade as they don’t really add much

Werenski is a legit top pairing two way D-man who can score goals at close to the rate of bertuzzi.

Quantity=\=quality and if Columbus were to trade werenski, they wouldn’t be adding picks to him

Bertuzzi is not a second line winger. He's a first line winger. The last season approaching something normal (2019-2020) he was 21st among left wingers. There are 32 first line wingers in the league so... Also Fabbri is not a third line winger either so basically you post was worthless.

If Detroit wants Werenski and he wants to come to Detroit it would be beneficial to wait for him to enter free agency. By then Detroit will be ready to compete. Why give up Bertuzzi and a 1st for Werenski when we probably aren't making playoffs in the next few years.

Cuz he can help hronek & slot him better ..groom seider ..& wait 2 years ..id rather have him for 2 years at 26 than 28-29 on long term or mid term contract..plus Bertuzzi likely a trade chip anyway (past contract issue & prime value is now-2years for max return) plus cbj likely wants hockey trade not rebuild pkg. To show fans they're trying to still win..
