Rebuild and Retool

Created by: Evakmky123
Team: 2021-22 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 3, 2021
Published: Jun. 4, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
5: Guenther (I've seen him fall as far as 8 in some mocks)
14. Raty
25. Ceulemans (saw fall this far in mock drafts)
27. Chakya

All non first rounders are on non-roster
I think some of the prospects such as Yegor Chinakhov still need time in the minors to develop

How far will they go? When will this team contend?

I think the FLyers would jump at that. Probably no retention on Ghost though. Whats $1.25 to CBJ?

OTT declines.

Upgrading a 2 late picks into mid picks isnt enough to ask OTT to leave the top 10

Jones only has 1 year left on his contract before UFA, I think what makes it fair is that he will stay or go depending on how the Flyers play probably

Ottawa declines. With pick #10 they're all but guaranteed to land Guenther, Lysell or Lucious. Belleville will be DEEP with prospects for the next 2 or 3 years even without Ottawa's 21 and 22 picks, and considering scouting players this year has been near impossible, upgrading a 2021 5th to a 2021 3rd isn't as exciting as remaining in the top 10 of the draft.

it is actually an overpay technically but I think the player's skill should make up for it. Look at this draft pick value chart. https://myslu.stlawu.edu/~msch/sports/Schuckers_NHL_Draft.pdf

I mean you signed 2 goalies when they already have 2 goalies so there is a whole lot more cap than what is shown once you delete those signings.

Guenther at 10 would be a dream and there is a pretty solid chance that Lysell or Lucious is still there at 14, maybe even Wallsteedt. The trade value is fair

Why would I delete them? They are great goalies

I can't tell if you are just trolling or what. No NHL team is going to do this! They would trade Merz and Korpi before even considering signing 2 other goalies.

How many games did Schneider play this year? And how can you compare Korpi and Merz to Schneider? Dude you are losing credibility by the second.

Thanks for the link but it there are SO MANY factors involved that you can't just point to it and say "YES THEY WOULD". Both SENS fans who've chimed in here have said Ottawa would not take that deal. Maybe that changes when it's Ottawa's turn to select based on who's still on the board, but I have my doubts. And, as you know, the mock drafts are all over the map this year because scouting was near impossible. That said, Arty has dropped considerably since the mid season rankings. Pretty sure you can get him without moving up.

No its not. Youre not adding those picks to the OTT chart, your upgrading them.

To move up 3 spots from 22 to 19, the NYR sent CGY the 72OA

To move up 2 spots from 224 to 22, WSH sent 80OA to CGY

In 2019, the ARI sent 14OA and 45OA to get to 11OA. <- This right there is your comparable.

To PHI: 10OA

To OTT: 14OA + 2022 2nd + late pick
