Take far more then Drysdale, A one year rental in Rakell plus the 3OA and a 2nd for Jack Eichel. Not even close.

Omg. I don’t get the fascination with paying super steep price for a guy with no timeline on being cleared to return or how he will be effected not to mention he hasn’t done anything while being healthy to justify a third overall pick plus a prospect of drysdale quality and even more I don’t get it. It’s like people just want to run their team into the ground.

I think you’ll be disappointed in what his return will end up being then.

I agree, more so seeing what people think they’d have to give up?

Well he consistently has some of the best underlying numbers of active centres like every year. Having 5 years of him in front of zegras going forward would be something to watch.

That's quite possible, A guy with a herniated disc in his neck. Is a very serious matter. And it will probably diminish his value greatly..

Somehow that team looks worse than what we have now, with a dimmer future without Drysdale and the third overall pick in this year's draft.

I really don't think that we have the surplus assets sufficient to land Eichel. In my mind, we have five untouchables (Gibson, Zegras and the 2022 first being the others), and I don't think that we can afford to give up even one of them. Imagine how we'd feel if we made this trade and then saw Owen Power or Matt Beniers available at #3. And if neither of them is, I still think we'll get a blue-chipper in July.

This is the max id give up for Eichel. Him and Zegras as the top 2 Cs would be fun to watch. And Zegras and Eichel on the half walls on a PP would be dangerous.

Comtois and Eichel on top line. Zegras and Terry on the 2nd is a good start to a quality top 6. Would need another winger and maybe Perrault to become a top 6 fwd.

This would leave a hole at RD but Lindholm and Fowler are still pretty good if kept around. Would have to fork up some money at UFAs.

I don’t think Eichel happens but it is a fun idea.

Yeah it'd be fun to potentially see Eichel turn into more of a Stamkos style pp player with Zegras doing his best try and being the Kucherov opposite him

Drysdale as the hedman maybe

Definitely gets the ol' juices flowing again

Well. Yeah. But no need to be so harsh about it

Gibson could revitalize his career and away they go

One very very minor element of the deal is Drysdale having awful possession numbers so far DISCLAIMER naturally in a tiny sample size DISCLAIMER so hm

Crazy early to judge but

The problem with your thinking is a guy that has never in his 5 full seasons has he scored less than 24 goals. He scored 24,24,25,28,36 in his first five full seasons. 56,57,64,82,78 total points in that year and he’s 24 years old. You say he’s don nothing to be worth a 3rd overall pick? Come on man.
