It really depends on how many teams are ok with him getting the surgery he wants. If multiple teams are ok with it then they will bid against each other and the price goes up. If one or no teams are ok with it the price goes down. If the Sabres bite the bullet and let him have the surgery, he recovers and returns to form next year then the price sky rockets, but at that point he may not get moved.

There aren't 6 teams in the NHL that will offer two top-8 draft picks plus a quality roster player plus a quality prospect AND can absorb Eichel's $10 million annual hit, let alone a dozen. Just look at the cap table for next season carefully.
