Minnesota Wild gets Jack Eichel

Created by: Nhl_oilers
Team: 2021-22 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 7, 2021
Published: Jun. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The main focus here is the Eichel trade, and how the team went to a defensive team to a complete all around team. Please give me input on the contracts especially Kaprizov, how much will it cost to bridge him, so they can afford Eichels full 10M. Lines are not the main focus, swap them if you want for the best chemistry.

7-3-1
Kaprizov, Fiala, Eriksson-Ek, Greenway, Parise, Zucarello, Eichel
Brodin, Suter, Spurgeon
Kahkonen

Seattle picks: Carson Soucy with picks so they won’t pick Talbot if needed.

Eichel trade happens before expansion draft.

You're going to get a lot of people telling you that's not nearly enough for Eichel, but the Wild shouldn't really be offering any more than that in terms of value.

I absolutely agree, but yah a lot of people are going to say it’s unfair. How much do you think Kaprizov gets on a bridge, if they get Eichel?

Why would the sabres, who would be rebuilding by trading eichel, want dumba back as a piece that has value?

You could flip him, or keep trying to get better with him, there are plenty of reasons on why Dumba is a great piece for you guys. He fills a massive hole on the right side of the defence, then you could trade Ristolainen and more for a center man.

Because they can protect him through the ED draft, and move him for a 1st+good prospect after.

I don't think the Wild are interested in a bridge, I think the least they settle on is 4x7M or 4x7.5M. More years could bring him up to almost 9M possibly.

I think the Eichel trade is close but the Sabres will probably want Boldy included as well.

There is less than 0 chance they get Rossi AND Boldy and additional value on top.

Didn’t say that they would get it, just that they would ask for it. In the end the Rangers or the Kings would beat any offer the Wild could offer anyway.

Fair... do you have a counter offer? And those are good pieces.

What hole on the right side? We have so many RHD that we were playing RHD at LHD

Dumba doesnt make sense in rebuild and I dont think he would do well on the Sabres to start with plus the majority of the return value should not be taken up by a Dman. I would need Boldy and Foligno back, I would like a Dewar or Kähkönen as well ,but not a need, and a first, preferably '22

The right side is not the best in my opinion. Jokiharju is okay, same as Ristolainen, but Dumba trumps both of them. I believe Ristolainen is gone this off-season... there’s your hole. A Dahlin-Dumba pair would be pretty sick if you choose to keep him.

So Foligno, Boldy, 2022 first, Dewar? Sure, that would do it. Dumba is a very good piece, but you say a good defence man shouldn’t take a lot of the value, but what you proposed is less value in my opinion.
