Testing the waters

Description
Some trades I want to test here, just checking interest and value for teams involved. I could definitely see the Coyotes wanting a prospect as well, but I figured I would start with this offer and see where it goes.

Trades

MIN
  1. Kessel, Phil
  2. Schmaltz, Nick
Additional Details:
So this is a bit of a mashup of trades I've seen on here previously and will likely need tweaking.
Arizona motivation is saving money: Schmaltz's cap hit is 5.85 Mil AAV but his actual money is significantly more.
Coyotes desperately will need a RHD
and Kessel is nearing the end of his contract.
Aquiring Parise will offset the actual money Kessel would have made this year but helps the Coyotes hit the cap floor while spending less assuming the trade is made before Kessel's bonus is due. After next season Parise is owed 4 million total over the last 3 years in actual money.
ARI
  1. Dumba, Matt
  2. Parise, Zach
  3. 2021 1st round pick (PIT)
  4. 2021 3rd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Parise excepts trade to continue getting consistent playing time and AZ's tax savings.
Phil agrees to waive to MN for a chance to win.
2.
MIN
  1. Eichel, Jack
  2. Thompson, Tage
Additional Details:
Tage is included to help offset money since I'm guessing signing Fiala will cost more than 4 million AAV.
BUF
  1. Fiala, Kevin [RFA Rights]
  2. Rossi, Marco
  3. Schmaltz, Nick
  4. 2021 1st round pick (MIN)

    Wild draft exempt:
    Kaprizov
    Boldy
    Addison

It would likely be Soucy, Talbot, Hartman, or Thompson but best guess Soucy.

That first deal deserves more intellectual energy (and honesty? 🤔) than people gave it here -what else is new tho- definitely has more depth to it than seems

Maybe Parise is tired of feeling his legacy drag in MIN

2 won playoff series total during his + Suter's 'era'

In AZ there's 0 angst he just gets paid 💰 to play 🏒

Very few other places he could possibly go either

I'm with you on this one. That trade is interesting IMO, and at the very least, it's at least original thinking. If you're willing to take a few creative leaps, there's some interesting concepts to explore here. I really don't like the "Parise isn't waiving" or "Parise only waives for a contender" answer. Absolutely nobody on this site knows what he's willing to do, so stating that like it's a fact is pretty ridiculous.

I don't particularly love the Eichel trade, but that's kinda beside the point. Getting Parise out of MIN opens up A LOT of doors to make moves and this is a novel way of approaching that problem.

Yeah if they are in Wild are probably out. Honestly if it gets into a bidding war then Canes, Rangers, Ducks, Kings will not be beatable.

Agreed. I'm bummed because I would be willing to give up more than what most Wild fans are probably comfortable with, but we just don't have the assets or the depth to outbid the teams you listed.

Take Rossi out of the eichel deal, and I think you’ve got a fair trade. Fiala is a top 6 winger and the way he’s played the last 2 years, he looks like a top line winger. Schmaltz is minimum Middle 6 Center but could turn into a low end 1C or high end 2c. Toss in a B prospect and it’s and even deal. Buf will have that to choose from or unproven guys like Laf Kappo or Byfield.
