Not gonna happen; but is this a good enough package for Nylander?

No sir. Tanev is very good defensively but i'm not convinced he's a top pairing guy. He is a #3 in my books. Leafs need a top pairing guy back if we are trading Nylander.

While I don't think anyone will call Tanev a #1 Dman, he's an excellent defensive D that plays top pairing minutes and would be a great partner to either Reilly or Gardiner, either of whom could take more offensive chances if paired with him.

Why would you give up a player you could have for the next 10 years for 2 guys who should probably retire? Basically this trade is Nylander and a 2nd for Tanev

I think the problem with this trade is that the leafs have no interest in the Sedin's. We have no problem paying Laich and Robidas this year but we are not willing to take on unwanted salary next year

Leafs should not trade Nylander period. He'd be the best rookie on any other team in the league. Just because he's overshadowed by Marner and Matthews, doesn't mean you trade him. He will go on a tear soon, and you'd regret this trade 100%.
