Description
Eichel trades have been discussed too much on this site. Is he worth more than this? Yes. Is he going to bring back more than this in a trade? Probably not given his injury and the little leverage that Buffalo has.

Martinez is probably going to get more than this on the open market, but I'd love to be able to bring him in on a short team contract like this. If we can't get Martinez, I'd look into what trading for McNabb would cost. Anything to get Dillon off the team.

I have no clue what Andersen is going to get on the open market. It seems like the supply will outweigh the demand this offseason, so a one year contract like this doesn't seem out of the question. If someone is prepared to offer him more somewhere else, then there are a handful of other guys available like Reimer.

I don't want to lose Eller, but it's the only way we can fit everything under the salary cap. I'd like to say get rid of Hagelin, but the fourth line was so good for us plus we'd have to pay someone to take him. I don't love handing McMichael the 3C spot, but I think he can handle it after going through some growing pains early in the year. BMac talked about getting more youth in the lineup, and it seems like Fehervary and McMichael are the two guys who are ready for it.

Basically the question is, would you rather have the potential franchise altering piece in Eichel but sacrificing a lot of draft capital and cap space to do it, or make a smaller upgrade at center, plus an upgraded defense and having more cap space + draft picks? Having Eichel gives us the chance to have a longer Cup window and a better shot at it, I just worry about surrounding him moving forward due to lack of cap space and picks.

Saw your reasoning for Freddy contract but I think that's going to be way too low, even if he were to take a 1 year prove it deal. I think somebody will give him a 2 year deal anyways. You'd probably have to pay more than 1M for Reimer too just given his numbers and play last year. Not saying he's worth it but he's probably closer to 2M so you'd have to scrap some extra change together to get a realistic second goalie.

Blues have zero interest in a center. We're loaded up on them
