You're about 2-3 mil short on Hamilton.

Also CBJ declines easily.

It's not perfect, but more creative minds than mine could hopefully get this done somehow. Adding Hamilton to this D Core would be worth losing Hyman. That is the intention I have in this post, we don't need another 5mil going to a forward, instead add another exchangeable forward and add a stud defenseman.

Hamilton isn't as good as Pietrangelo and doesn't get what he got.

Yea this user is short (as I believe Hamilton already turned down a $6.5M AAV deal with Carolina. But I'd be shocked if he gets more than $8M AAV, probably settles between $7.5M - $8M

Hamilton will be out of range for the Leaf's but if they added him and moved someone else it could happen

I think the Leaf's need to move on from Mikheyev and Engvall and build a line that will not hurt you in your own end like they do but are hard to play against. finish their checks and be dirty in the playoffs

I mean stats might disagree with you. He's an elite D offensively, and good one defensively. Not to mention that he's as young as an UFA can be.

I'm almost certain some team will pay him a Petro amount, probably even more should there be a bidding war.

To be fair your problem is not adding another $5M forward - it's making your $11M forwards to produce something in the postseason. Last three years in a row, when the regular season has ended, they have suddenly appeared either injured or just plain old pathetic.
chungus liked this.

He's not much defensively actually. When he plays away from Slavin he gets exposed frequently
