Better PP

Created by: GarthBrooks

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 11, 2021

Description
The team couldn’t score during the playoffs. The PP became dog water. I think Dubas has always wanted his team to be at the top of the league when it comes to goals. Boom. Bring in bring in Hoffman to play with Matthews, bring the grey beard line back which made Spezza very productive (vs playing Spezza with a bunch of grinders), bring in Vince Dunn to play on Muzzin’s right side, Galchenyuk is back to play with Tavares and Nylander (cause he'll be cheap and they already have chemistry)

Why would you bring back Jumbo? He was a complete liability on both ends of the ice

Do you really want Joe to be in your lineup come playoff time next year?

to fix the PP isn't about bringing in Hoffman. Three things are needed:

1. A net front guy that can tip the puck. Simmonds was unbelievable with that until his injury and never got it back unfortunately.

2. Marner needs to play the goal line. Teams collapses into the passing lanes on the PP when Marner has it on the half boards. They know his shot a non-factor. Now if Marner play the goal-line it make everyone job easier as from the goal line its a lot easier to make those cross seam passes you Wheeler do in Winnipeg.

3. Get a right handed shooter on the opposite side of Matthews. Nylander need to play on the opposite side of Matthews. It makes it harder to collapse into 2 passing lane without opening up the from of the net.

The team played bad overall, the Canadiens got the leafs as whole to force passes that led to turnovers. Marner had maybe just as many dumb passes that led to turnovers. Keefe didn't adapt and just kept the same lines, same PP, same PK. It's on that fool. If he just keeps Thornton as a 4th liner and keeps their shifts short he could be useful

I think Marner is too small to play goal line in. Wheeler's a big boy he can fight off checks to give him time and space. Marner would probably try to spin off and ring the puck off the boards everytime

Point plays goal line if I'm correct on TBL. It's not about being a big boy, Marner is afraid to go into the dirty areas which he needs to stop.

Think the Blues would be stupid not to accept that one.

Point's just a different animal. Marner is Tyler Ennis with great passing ability and vision.

Marner is Kane without the shot and the ability to drive the net. Literally if Marner drives the net it makes Matthews 10x more dangerous.

I certainly don't want to bring Thornton, Foligno, Galyenchuk. Please, Thornton didn't/can't play centre any more. Why do fans think he can suddenly be productive at centre. He isn't good enough for LW
