It would have been nice not to give up any of these players though.

Especially Archinbald and Oleksaik. They would’ve been big help in the play-offs.

I’m not a Sundqvist fan though. I think he’s overrated.

I think the Pens have better options in Gaudreau/ Angello/Lafferty/Zohorna/D.OConnor. IMO, all are better options and a lot cheaper.

Lafferty and E-Rod are even better Centers options too. Sundqvist mostly plays wing anyways. He’s not a good playmaker for his linemates. Not a good Center.

Mark Jankowski = O.Sundqvist.

Sullivan didn't like Sundqvist, he'd have never played. He barely played him while he was here.
You might think that was for other reasons, but remember, Cullen was moved up playing C because of the injuries. He still didn't play him.

I feel like we can’t understate how unreal Cullen was during those two runs though. So much to the point that there was absolutely no reason for Sundqvist to be in that elevated role.

Either way they could’ve used Sundqvist in a different trade to actually bring in a good asset rather than fourth line garbage that played 5 mins a night under Mike Sullivan.

dude, we had 2 centers I believe at one point....he still didn't play him. I mean wft... he's not gonna play him now.

Look at their numbers. Jankowski actually has had 2 better seasons statistically than Sundqvist. And Jankowski is younger. And better PK. And a lot, a lot cheaper. Again, Sundqvist, very over-rated.

Jankowski
2017-18— 17 goals and 25 points.
2018-19— 14 goals and 32 points.

Sundqvist best season was :
14 goals and 31 points
12 goals and 23 points.

And Sundqvist horrible FO win %.

Sundqvist also makes 2.75M per.

You forget Sundqvist was a Penguin. He wasn’t good. And not good now. Just like Jankowski.

A 4th line Center at best.
