Not very realistic not gonna lie. This would probably be best-case scenario for the Capitals, although I doubt some of the teams would accept these offers

Hoooooly crap, do you think the bruins don’t know who Carlson is? Butter soft, they just proved it.

The hardest pass imaginable to that trade. Yikes.

Why’d you buy Eller out? That doesn’t make the team better and his contract isn’t bad..also no Ovi? Still have 20M+ in cap space. Even for an unrealistic scenario this doesn’t make sense.

The Capitals are gonna go into rebuild mode imo. I don't think Alex Ovechkin wants to be part of a rebuilding team considering his age/personality.

He'll probably get paid by a contending team that doesn't realise he's a shell of himself or go off to Russia and make bank

That's not what the Caps' GM is saying. He wants to add more youth/speed into the lineup, but if you're investing in Backstrom, Carlson, and Ovi for the next 3-4 years, you're not rebuilding at that point. Mediocre probably, but with the right ELC/cheap contracts, they can still compete.

This is terrible, this is the worst possible offseason the caps could have.
