I like the Eichel deal, but as for the Columbus trade I would insist on having Kirill Marchenko and the Columbus 1st(#5OA) for Risto and Reinhart.

Marchenko is looking like a stud, tex has the tools, needs to find consistency in his play to be a top 6 player. A late first and a 1b goalie. This deal is already too much for my taste. I’d offer foudy, korpi, domi/ Jenner and Toronto’s first for rienhart alone I’m not as high on him and don’t want to overreach as a retooling team on a so so center. (Not a proven center- very good player, doesn’t fill a role we need). If you think we add March and the 5th overall, as I’ve been told all day on this site via Seth Jones be prepared to be disappointed, the only difference is Seth Jones’s reputation is stupidly high in nhl circles.

I think Columbus is gonna try to reload instead of rebuild. I don’t think they are moving fifth unless it’s for Eichel. And when you look at their roster, they’re really not that bad....they have talent, but with Seth Jones, they will get a lot for him, but they still need to replace him in some way which is why Risto makes sense to me.

For Reinhart, he’s more than a so so center.....he played very well under Granato in a small sample given the opportunity and he’s always been a natural center, but he was never given a look at the position, for whatever reason. He’s just got to get better at the dot.

If I’m CBj my issue with Reinhart is not his ability to play center, it’s the question of can you sign him long term? Because for some reason star players always want out of Columbus.

But at the end of the day, if Columbus is really committed to a reload over a rebuild and Jarmo really wants to compete quickly, Reinhart might be the only option unless you want to give up the Nationwide arena and the Ohio State Buckeyes for Eichel. Other options would probably be a guys like Nugent-Hopkins or Danault ( neither is a true 1C and can CBJ lure one of them there?), trading for Sean Monahan and hoping for a bounce back year but he has a no trade clause and trading for Kuznetsov, but he also has a no trade Clause.

Reinhart might end up being the best option

For me, for Columbus and Buffalo....I like the idea of a Jenner-Risto swap. I also like the idea of a Reinhart and Risto package together to get a group of guys like Foudy, Jenner, a goalie and a first

I mean are we really gonna lose are **** over a mid round draft pick? It’s just a base idea....you’re either in the ball park or your way off and I think there’s a consensus that chucky and Zary as a base is the probable deal. It doesn’t really matter what’s added or subtracted but obviously Buffalo is gonna try to squeeze every penny out of the team who deals for Eichel. At the same time there is a flip side to that coin.

Buffalo fans like myself would like to say they are dealing from a position of Strength with Eichel because they don’t need to trade him but that’s not entirely true. He has a significant neck injury and wants a procedure done that no NHL player has ever had, and it’s a gamble for Buffalo to keep him just as much as it is for a team like Calgary to acquire him.

And if the LA Kings are truly out and if it’s true that Chris Druey may not be willing to sell to the farm in NYR....that takes out two major players for Eichel and that will affect his value.

My guess is that it’s gonna come down to Calgary vs Minnesota vs Columbus vs maybe Anaheim and an unexpected 5th team

I don't think its the probably deal at all, I think thats what Calgary offers if they get really desperate for Eichel.

Anaheim isnt going to be in on Eichel, they are currently around 5 years away from being a competitor and Eichel just makes them mediocre instead of helping them draft high. With the news on Jones Columbus probably isnt in on him either

I think CBJ is going to play the shell game this offseason. They’ll move Jones, they’ll acquire assets and then look to the trade market for a defenseman if they can get one, I’m just not thrilled about what they did at coach. Jarmo is an aggressive GM, They could end up with four first rounders after they move Jones, I don’t think they will be picking with all of them. I can see Columbus interested in Eichel, Reinhart, and Ristolainen.

I said the #5 pick and Marchenko, he's their 3rd best rated prospect. In return the Blue Jackets receive Risto and Reinhart (only if signing a new deal).

Maybe but they arent going to offer #3, Drysdale, or Zegras. So realistically they aren't in the running

I think they might trade Zegras, Henrique and the 2022 pick to get Eichel.

The definitely arent trading Zegras, 0% chance on that
