Jets Expansion and Offseason

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Demelo will be taken by the Kraken (not debatable, it is what will happen, like it or not.) Jets can make a play ofnJones who may come cheaper than you'd expect given his intention to walk from CBJ after next season. Bolster the D with a cheap signing for Oleksiak, slot Heinola and Samberg in when injuries arise, Bring Forbort back for depth, etc. Re-sign Stastny for less, bring in a depth forward, and let Gustaffson/Harkins get their first full seasons in.
Forward depth is just as good, Defensive depth is massively improved. Could be a team that'll make a run. All this if Jones would even want to go to Winnipeg.

Pretty sure most everyone will say it'll take a better prospect then Vesalainen to get Jones and Niku has no value.

Hence the First and Third... if that doesn't make an enticing offer on a player with one year left on his term, they would be severely hard-pressed to find someone willing to give up more. But maybe you're right. In the case it does require a better prospect, depending on how good that player is, the picks start to come off the table

Oh no I meant on top of the 1st, they'll want a 1st plus one of Heinola or Perfetti, the 3rd and Niku are pretty much non factors in the deal.

I'm not saying that's what I'd be willing to pay if I was GM but that's what Jackets fans will say the price for Jones will be.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. A future core blue-chipper type, and another likely-to-be-a-helpful-contributor type. Or their pick equivalents. And the 1st, being later in the round, counts as the latter.
