Lol Rangers decline. You could’ve stopped at Kakko and that would’ve been the response.

That's (as usual when it comes to these proposals) a very easy decline for the Rangers

That would be a really good deal for the Flames to take. Dube is fine but definitely hasn't progressed the way Flames fans think he should have, Olofsson would definitely have a more immediate impact that the Flames are looking for. I have no idea what the Flames fan above could see in wanting to keep Dube and a 4th over a guy who has put up 42 and 32 in 54 and 56 games.

This is the most reasonable Reinhart trade I’ve seen. That being said I would still decline because I don’t think we need to target atop 6 winger this offseason. I’d rather see what we have with Pod and if Hog can take another step

Olofsson is a complete liability at even strength and to this point is nothing more than a PP specialist. He wouldn't even see the 1st PP here.

Dillon Dube outproduced him at even strength this past season (20 points) while playing 12:15 a night at evens.
Victor Oloffson had 17 even strength points at even strength while playing 14:30 minutes a night.

Dube is the far more effective all around player, will be significantly cheaper in the short term, and is far more suited for a Sutter system. Darryl would absolutely despise VO.

When the Flames march out a PP2 with Dube, Backlund and Lucic on it while living in the bottom third of the league there is definitely room for improvement.

Over the last three seasons comparing the two Olofsson has nearly doubled Dube's production in less games played, he has 5 more even strength points plus 30 more powerplay points. Looking at numbers you could actually argue that this was a down year for Olofsson while it was Dube's best season and Olofsson was still the better player.

Why would Sutter hate Olofsson, isn't it a tried and true Sutter trait that he loves guys with great possession metrics? Olofsson's numbers there have been better than Dube's every single season.

Yes.. and Victor Oloffson has played significantly more minutes and with the likes of Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart. Who has Dube had the luxury of playing with?

Dube is also three years younger which has to be considered.

Purely looking at "counting stats" is a horrible idea because it doesn't factor in context. Olofsson "relative" possession numbers are better solely because Buffalo is an absolute dumpster fire.

The trade based on value is by no means horrible. It's just not a trade that makes Calgary a better overall team in my estimation.

I disagree I think Calgary gets the better player and I think he would fit better in the Flames for the next few years trying to compete. Good points though, I can see where you're coming from, just don't agree.
