Yup, chose to use family ties to make the deal. Since Wood was born in Buffalo, Thompson’s brother is in NJ and the obvious Fitzgerald part.

Teams position themselves like this all the time, it’s rather meaningless. Brannstrum with Vegas was untouchable until he wasn’t. I don’t see any reason that Zegras is any different. He’d be a large piece in a deal to get a Top 15 C, not some 1/2 year rental.

Eichel isn't going anywhere without fetching a 1st this year or next year.

Tage and Fitz do not fetch Wood.
