VAN probably accept but don't understand why STL would make that move?

it's actually on par potential wise, it's just that I'm not entirely sure that he'll pan out...

Trading back 25 spots to upgrade the Top 4 D-corp seems like a good move to me. Maybe STL would ask for another pick or other future to balance it out.

We know blues can lose him for nothing in the expansion draft and we know we would have to protect him if we make the deal. We are offering edm 2nd and that's as high as well go, if not he can go somewhere else and we are ok with it

Okay. VAN depending on their situation would probably want a right shot dman. Schmidt can play both sides so there might be some hesitation by the Canucks.

Here is the problem with that logic. Multiple people have already started that multiple teams are in on Dunn. Assuming he’s gonna be lost for nothing is foolish because it assumes no team would be willing to protect him. Someone will trade for Dunn before the XD and the price will be close to what Armstrong wants because while he has no leverage with the XD he has leverage in team versus team. Do not wanting to part with 2 second rounders is fine but someone will because Dunn will instantly be in their top 4 and they’ll have solved a need at a good price

So you can trade him elsewhere for that price, no problem we'll pass all day and stick with yzermans plan

If we are losing Krug to SEA why in the world are we trading Dunn?

I want Dunn but I'd rather pay the Washington pick than two 2nds.

The two 2nds carry a higher chance of getting a NHL player than a late first does. This is especially true in this rather strange draft where perfectly good prospects are likely to fall for no reason other than American/Canadian scouts have been unable to travel to Europe.
