        Where do you Vegas coming up with $10M in Cap space?

        was more about coming up with an appoximate value for Eichel. I suppose Buffalo could eat some salary from Vegas if they were to add a sweetener.

        {Is Henrique considered a cap dump at this point?}

        No, he's an essential element of any Eichel trade to offset some of Eichel's $10 million cap hit and compensation package. Anaheim operates on an internal cap, and it's probably $75 million or less for this coming season.

        Neither Anaheim nor Los Angeles is going to put two A+ assets into any Eichel trade before he's proven his game fitness in actual NHL competition, which is why you keep seeing reports that "LA is out" or "Anaheim is out" in the media. Imagine trading away Max Comtois and the third overall pick in this year's draft and then learning that Eichel will be out for the entire season.

        How many times can you get away with signing big Contracts (like Schmidt and Stastny), and then trading them away for Mid Round Picks to bring in other big Contracts (Pietrangelo, Lehner and now Eichel)?

        It catches up to you eventually. Especially when future FA's realize "Why would I sign here when they'll probably trade me at the next Deadline"?

        Not a chance on the Minnesota trade. We can't be sending our only halfway decent center back in a trade for Eichel. If we get rid of him and add Eichel, we still only have 1 center, but it blows a big hole in us defensively. That makes no sense for us. Guerin has made it clear that there is almost no way Eriksson Ek will be getting moved.

        Yeah It's weird but it's working for them. I think the Knights should go for Reinhart instead
