Sabres Roster for Next Season

Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2021
Published: Jun. 19, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Let Owen Power, Ryan Johnson and Jacob Bryson battle it out for the 6th spot. But Power also may just want to go straight back to college which is fine.

I know a lot of people want Eklund, but I think Adams take Guenther with ANA's pick as long as Seattle takes Beniers. If Beniers is there, Adams takes him instead.

Anaheim declines. They have said Zegras and Drysdale aren't getting traded

I know the rumors are that we're on on Risto, but we're not giving up that much for him.

You left Trevor Zegras, John Gibson and our 2022 first-round draft pick out of the Eichel trade. After all, most of your fellow fanbase is convinced you're entitled to all six of our six best assets.

Anaheim made that clear for Pierre Luc Dubois. Eichel is better than PLD and haven’t heard anything about those for Eichel.

I’m truly curious what Risto’s value is, and what it take to get Wood in a Risto trade

    Yeah… the Gibson stuff I don’t get.
And as much as I want Zegras I think the GM holds steady on him.
But I do think if Minny, LA and Columbus wager enough that he may have to pull the trigger on something similar to this.
Plus it gives Anaheim a LOT of freedom in the expansion draft if this is done soon.

Just so you know my position, I think that the Eichel trade that is in Anaheim's best interests won't involve anything more than Henrique, Steel, the 2021 first and maybe one more roster player. Rebuilding teams can't fill many holes with one player, and Edmonton and Toronto have proven that even multiple superstars don't get you anywhere.

I get that argument. But any trade with Anaheim that doesn't include at least one of Comtois, Zegras or Drysdale is not worth it for the Sabres. So you have to start with at least one if you're being realistic. I get Henrique is the helpful CAP dump, and the 2021 First is also a must have. And that's just a bare minimum.

Risto has very little value, especially to team like NJD, whose strength is possession game.
The gap between the two would be a solid young player or mid-to-late 1st.
