Description
st round mock draft. Spent 2-3 hours researching players.
ROUND 1TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-Although I do not think he should go #1,there is just so much saying that he will go #1.
Logo of the Seattle Kraken-Seattle gets their probable franchise center here in Matty Beniers. A great two-way center with no lack of offensive upside either.
Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-A winger to go with Trevor Zegras, these two could deal some serious damage on offense.
Logo of the New Jersey Devils-New Jersey gets a great defensive talent in Brandt Clarke, someone who should be able to make an impact on both sides of the ice.
Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-A center/winger convert, Eklund is as close to NHL ready as there is. Two-way player who can help out Laine sooner rather than later.
Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-Stevie Y probably knows who he wants already, but if he wants to replicate what he built in Tampa, Jesper Wallstedt can be that franchise goalie.
Logo of the San Jose Sharks-While Guenther could be the pick here, San Jose has next to nothing in the prospect pool. To me, Kent Johnson seems more like a player who you want to be the next upcoming star for a franchise.
Logo of the Los Angeles Kings-This is purely based on what you prefer in a defender, but Edvinsson has the better defense and possibly the higher overall floor over Luke Hughes.
Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-Funny how things work out sometimes. Luke Hughes is a more well-rounded version of his brother, maybe they can help each other learn on a Vancouver team desperate for some team defense.
Logo of the Ottawa Senators-After a run of defenders, Dylan Guenther falls to Ottawa at 10. Good all around player who could compliment Tkachuk and Stutzle.
Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-
Draft Pick Forfeited
Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-A bit of a project, the AJHL product has the upside of a top 10 pick here. Similar style to Cale Makar with a fast offensive mind, Ceulemans can be a boom or bust pick.
Logo of the Calgary Flames-With a few mainstay Calgary forwards on the hot seat, Calgary might need a new offensive dynamo. Cole Sillenger could be just that.
Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-Giroux getting older, Hayes being inconsistent, and Patrick seemingly a bust, Aatu Raty can be a solid two-way top six center. The former top prospect saw a drop in draft stock after a lack of improvement from last year to now.
Logo of the Dallas Stars-With Radulov about to enter his age 35 season, Nikita Chibrikov could be his replacement on the wing. Although he may be a few years away, he has the potential to be worth the wait.
Logo of the New York Rangers-Although this may be a slight reach, Sasha Pastujov is a smart winger who knows how to setup both himself and his teammates. A nice middle six, 20 goal upside player for a Rangers team primed for the future.
Logo of the St. Louis Blues-Chaz Lucius doesn't have just a nice name, but he has an elite shot and goal scoring capability. Drawbacks include a lack of size, top end explosiveness and defensive game. St. Louis could use a nice and reliable goal scoring center.
Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-I can see Winnipeg trading down to make the same pick, but Stanislav Svozil could be a big help in getting Connor Hellebuyck some defensive help down the line.
Logo of the Nashville Predators-Another player who lost draft stock due to no OHL season, Mason McTavish could end up being a steal here for Nashville. Offensive minded center who can set up in front of the net with his solid 6'2 frame.
Logo of the Edmonton Oilers-Edmonton needs more than two capable forwards. After drafting center Dylan Holloway last year, Oskar Olausson can be a solid, goal scoring/two-way player the Oilers. Consistency seems to be a primary issue though.
Logo of the Boston Bruins-Zachary L'Hereaux is a feisty and gritty forward. He has a Marchand-esque style of play and can turn into a servicable top six forward if he can fix the discipline issues.
Logo of the Minnesota Wild-While Fyodo Svechkov may not have the high end potential like other prospects, he looks to be a great defensive middle sixer. A Minnesota team with a young team and plentiful prospects could affort to take a player like Svechkov.
Logo of the Detroit Red WingsLogo of the Washington CapitalsWith an already stacked prospect pool, Brennan Othmann would make it so much deadlier. A goal scorer with top six potential who already has experience playing with men.
Logo of the Florida Panthers-Florida has a great future on the offensive side of the pick. Carson Lambos would help solidify their future on defense. He has a knack for getting the puck out quickly, with a good shot to go with it. Can go nicely along Ekblad and Weegar.
Logo of the Columbus Blue JacketsLogo of the Toronto Maple LeafsZachary Bolduc is a forward who has a great shot and offensive mind. While his defense still needs some work, he can be a nice pickup if he makes it to CBJ at 25.
Logo of the Minnesota WildLogo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsA winger who loves to have the puck on his stick, SImon Robertsson uses his skating and offensive mind to give himself an advantage. Could go higher if it wasnt for COVID making scouting tougher.
Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-Samu Tuomaala is a fast and offensive minded player who could turn into a nice middle six forward if he works on his defense a little.
Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-While yes Colorado has Philipp Grubauer, there is no guarantee he stays this offseason. He will also enter his 30's in less than a year. Sebastian Cossa is a very large goalie with surprisingly good movement and puck tracking. Were Grubauer to come back this offseason, Cossa could be in a situation where he can have all the time in the world to work on his game and improve.
Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-Montreal's defensive core is getting rather old. Daniil Chayka could be a top 4 defender who can fill in after Weber and Petry are unable to play at a top level.
Logo of the New Jersey DevilsLogo of the New York IslandersXavier Bourgault is a center with tremendous offensive upside. The two drawbacks: skating and defense. If he can fix these he can turn into a steal.
Logo of the Columbus Blue JacketsLogo of the Tampa Bay LightningWith Columbus already taking two forwards in the first round, Scott Morrow is an incredible risky pick coming right out of High School. But the upside is there and if he can continue to grow, he can be the steal of the draft.
Logo of the Vegas Golden Knights-Pinelli has the makings of a middle six centerman. While he seems to be a safe pick, his overall ceiling isn't as high as others.

Hawks aren't drafting another RHD with a young boqvist, mitchell, and regula all signed.

Also, Matthew Coronato won't slip past the first IMO and likely not past the #20 OA

Reportedly the Blackhawks want Coronato.

Yes, I've heard they are high on him as well, but would imagine, they would trade back for him 5 slots or so.

Must've missed him, my mistake. After a quick research on him, he definitely seems like someone that could go around top 15 for sure.
