Description
I know Rielly's been the longest-tenured Leaf on the squad right now, but I think now is the right time to move him. Hes gonna get paid in free agency and I don't know if the leafs could afford the price. This could be a similar situation like Barrie, where he was traded knowing that Makar would be able to pick up the offence, and they got a solid return in Kadri.

    I don't mind trading Reilly either for a good player or cap space. But Monahan doesn't help the Leafs with his cap. The bottom six doesn't look NHL good and again 21 man roster are impractical unless the NHL goes to a cap avoiding taxi squad.

    Sooo your answer to trading Reilly, is to also sign Hamilton, for more money?? Then bring back Reimer for $1.5m and have him split with another backup in Campbell? What am I missing here, an $8m and 2 backup goalies, rather than a $5m d man and a little room to try bring in a better backup than Reimer....

    I've actually never seen a Rielly to PIT trade on this site untill @pharrow posted one yesterday

    There's been a barrage of them and while Reilly would be a nice get he makes no sense for the Pens in their current situation.

    Calgary needs Monahan a lot more than they need Rielly. Monahan's extra year also makes him worth more

    Lol I've seen a lot of them and it doesn't make sense for Pitt at all. They've already got a lot of LHD and the cap is tight for them

    We have FIVE LHD's and need to trade at least one just to keep most of what we have before filling in the rest of the holes.
