It'll cost more to shed Loui. Not a 1st, but likely another 2nd. The Hawks could just sign Janmark (or equivalent) and trade him at the TDL for a 2nd & 3rd, AND still have $3M in cap to work with.

Getting Manson in division with retention easily costs at least 1st whether hes worth that or not

Bob Murray values him way too much

I’m not sure how good Rathbone is but I would guess the 3rd coming back wouldn’t be there. And I think you gotta add another piece for Manson especially with retention. The Eriksson trade would just be about the year of the pick and the team taking him on. But overall this is pretty good. Just about some of the details cleaned up.

I disagree. GMBM has proved he’s willing to make plenty of trades with VAN. And while he does value Manson I think the possibility of him being traded is rather high and I expect he realizes the price isn’t what he asked for at the deadline.

I just cant see him trading Manson in-division for any less this offseason, not saying I think he's worth that at all, he isnt worth that but I dont see Murray moving him in-division for under-market value, especially with retention, alot of teams would line up with offers that beat this quite easily, realistically a 3rd round pick is nothing in the NHL more times than not

Mansons value actually can fluctuate quite a bit imo, lets say we keep him until after the expansion draft and then whatever team would trade for him wouldnt need to protect him, that would raise his value, especially since we can take cap back on top of retaining, I'd be shocked if we dont get approximately a first in value for him.

Manson has more value than Kase had, I feel like if Manson gets moved it would be in a deal similar to that so we maximize his value

I agree the 3rd isn’t enough. I’m just not sure a 1st is the price either. I also think GMBM would look at a prospect in return over just picks. So I think the price would be based on the quality of the prospect. If Juolevi was a RHD, he and the 3rd would work.

I agree the price would fluctuate a bit based on when the trade occurs. Mainly that before the expansion draft some of the value would actually be in who replaces him in the protected list.

I also disagree with the division rival part mainly based on the fact that there’s been a few trades between teams. I don’t think the price would increase just based on it being VAN.
