Description
Detroit trade isn't reasonable by any means I know unless if an Aburezze is in there somewhere? or some other Mid to High Prospect. I think the Rielly trade is a complete loss but it adds Cap space and adds a pretty good RHD to the lineup and a gritty young bottom 6 in Brandon Lemieux. Edmonton would be chomping at the bits to have a winger like Mikhayev on their team and I'm sure that Ilya is worth at least a 4th. I'm sure Letter_Kenny said that adding Goodrow and Coleman alongside resigning Foligno would place an absolute "Sledgehammer" line on the 3rd line. Lemieux Brooks Spezza could be interesting by any means. Signing a proven playoff performer in Brandon Saad as a top 6 guy to play with Matthews and Nylander ( See what I did there ) and then Nick Robertson might get the chance to win the ( Calder ) if he didn't already lose his eligibility already but playing beside ( Tavares and Marner ) he could put up BIG points in his first official rookie season. Reimer also returns as well to make my soul happy!

Detroit declines. Need LD not RD. No one wants the Giraffe. Yzerman will keep the 2nd. 2nd round is where he drafted Kucherov.

Liljegren still has a chance to be something. Engvall can fill a hole while prospects can come up. I'd be happy with this trade. Detach the 1st rd pick bias from Liljegren and he's still a B-/C level prospect. If he truly doesn't pan out, whatever. It's not even our pick. Not to mention this draft is pretty damn shallow after the top 5. By just about all accounts.

Yeah knew it would be a stretch for yeah. If Dermott is shifted out of that trade and the pick becomes a 4th or 3rd accepted or not?

Problem is Detroit doesn't need RD and that's what Liljegren is. Dermott is LD but he's plateaued. Wings already have enough bottom 6 forwards. Engvall is big but doesn't play big.

Rangers might pay a 1st for Rielly. Good chance he'd extend there as well.

Detroit actually needs a waiver exempt RD. There is nothing but Seth Barton in GR and with Stecher becomng an UFA next season we could be in for a disaster come trade deadline next season if there is the tinyest injury on RD.

Liljegren is waiver exempt for another year and is good enough to work as an injury replacement without caving like Barton would surely do.

I'd rather keep our 2nd round picks and build through the draft trusting Yzerman and Verbeek's ability to scout talent. More kicks at the can the better.

I'd do Engvall + Liljegren for VGK 3rd or Detroit 4th.

Engvall can be sent to Grand Rapids and Liljegren may still become good enough to let Detroit trade Stecher for assets at the deadline. It's a low risk high reward trade for Detroit.

Leafs gain a Mid round pick and Cap and they have Topi Niemela who I heard was really good and Duszak is coming along as well? So maybe Liljgrenn might go in that case?!

Anything else other than a first the Rangers would give away? Could Georgiev become an option to come over considering the Leafs were interested in him a year ago? Georgiev and a 1st for Rielly? Leafs then keep Muzzin and Sandin on the Left Brodie and Holl on the right. Bogosian resigns and Leafs maybe take a shot at Jake Mccabe to replace Rielly? Lower cost, analytical darling that Dubas loves to sign? Could be a 2nd Pair LHD with Holl? Then the Leafs resign Hutton as a 7th D if Liljegren is gone? Or maybe Del Zotto? I know that he is good friends with Tavares?

I think Rangers are set on going with a Shesty/Georgy goalie combo. They're likely talking to Buffalo about Eichel and/or Reinhart. By the way I'd like to apologize for my comments the other day. You're not a troll. You seem like a good person. I'm sorry for insulting you.

I was pretty high on Liljegren at one point but that was before the emergence Hronek and drafting Seider.
