Colin White for a Tyson Jost package deal plus other trades and signings

Team: 2021-22 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 22, 2021
Published: Jun. 22, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It looks like White's production has slowed down but he still has the potential to be a good two way second line forward. Can the Avs buy him low with Jost, Compher and a prospect?

I see Jost and Compher being good pieces for a third line, PK in Ottawa. Jost's flashes of brilliance are multiplying, but since he's not there yet, Ottawa could sign him for cheap (1-2mil).

Compher is a really versatile piece too. They both help add some playoff experience to a team looking to get in sooner than later. I do see the downside of Ottawa having to protect more players for the Exp Draft. That being said, they have a damn decent amount of picks to help weather that if they wanted to.

Kovalenko is there to balance value, he could be good to bring into Belleville as a lot of their AHL players are becoming full time NHLers. I think he deserves a shot as he's played over 120 games in the KHL at 21 years old already, had a decent 19-20 season but stats went down after losing ice time to players older than him this year.

Judge the signings too! Makar bridge deal, Landy & Gru on long term deals. (Anyone know why Soderberg doesn't exist? I had to create him... weird)

But how is that fair? Donskoi has over 60 pts in his last 110 or so games. White has 40 in his last 100. That's only 10 less games with 20 less points. Donskoi is bigger with the cheaper contract. Plus Donskoi and Erik Johnson are kinda salary cap placeholders for the Mack & Makar raises of 2023.

Honestly, not a bad call! Probably would cost more than what I'm looking to give up for White. Would be worth it though. Zona selling him at all?

I just don't see us giving up on jost after he finally found a home as our 3C. Odds are Graves or donny are taken in the expansion.
I think sodes is probily gone because he signed in sweden for the next year.

Soda's in Sweden! I totally missed that! That makes sense. I traded Graves to get something for him and I think it'd be worth it for Buffalo to protect him as McCabe is still injured / might walk in UFA. I see them protecting Joki, Dahlin and Graves. Just because Risto is sounding like a cap dump to get rid of and Miller has declined but that could be the Buffalo effect. So I think the Sabres don't mind watching either of those two go for nothing. They have the 1st overall pick + picks, prospects and cap space galore even with Skinner.

If the avs wait until after the Exp draft to sign Landy, they can protect Donskoi and Jost. So I assumed Seattle would take the cheaper contract between Compher and MacDonald.

I'm happy to keep Jost as the Avs 3C, it'd be nice to see Newhook there too I think he slots well between Val and Donny. I've felt Jost's time was limited once they drafted Newhook.

I don’t know that I’m doing Jost for White straight up much less adding.
