Don't see Edmonton giving up that much for Rakell, coming off 2 somewhat down seasons and only 1 year remaining on his deal.. Maybe Lavoie alone, but even that I think they value the 6'4 C on the cusp of being NHL ready more than a Winger to play with McDavid or Drai for 1 season... Also, it would be awesome for RNH to sign that ticket in Anaheim, I'd be devastated as a fan, but also understand the lifestyle and the perks so wouldn't be mad at him hahaha....

(Please note...this is a happy reply, not meant to be snarky at all! Just trying to point out a few things and create discussion smile )

I think the idea of Anaheim trading away picks is kind of foolish right now.
-That Nuge contract will be very, very regrettable in a couple of years. He's not a 1C, and I get the idea that he eases Zegras into the role, but with the team out of it for at least the next year or two, I don't see the point in making that kind of add right now.
-Not really much point paying to get rid of Rico. Available players will likely be him, Heinen, Shatty, maybe Manson (Hopefully they protect Fleury over him, or even go 4-4-1...). Going to lose someone, and we already d1cked up the Vegas draft. Keeping/Losing Rico is fine either way. If you lose him, you gain the cap space. If you keep him, you've got a decent veteran C to eat tough minutes when Getzy inevitably retires.
-That Hampus trade seems a bit light. I wouldn't be happy with Brown and a conditional 2nd in the first place, let alone taking the Dadonov contract.
-I'd take the Rakell deal, but Edmonton declines.
-Not a lot of point in giving up a 3rd, plus Terry for a bottom pairing Dman who can play up a little bit, and a 4C. Just keep Terry and the pick.
-I'd be alright with that Jones trade, but I think Buffalo is in the same boat...no point moving picks just to move 'em.

Cheers!

Hahaha, yeah, and the Ducks absolutely decline. Dadonov is fun and all, but Hampus is a bonified top pairing LD. He gets a better haul than a change of scenery prospect, an overpaid winger and *maybe* a 2nd, if he re-signs.

As on Oilers fan, if RNH leaves for a contact like that, I wouldn't hold any hard feelings after how long he was here. It's his chance for a big pay day so go for it. That said, It'd also cement that Holland made the right decision to let him walk if that's his price tag. Still holding out hope he signs for term in the $5-5.5 range.

That Rakell trade is just too much from Edmonton. You could make a case maybe if they retained 50% but still don't think I'd do it then.
