Not a fan from Leafs perspective.

Lindholm is no upgrade from Rielly, both are high top4 pending UFA D-men, and trading Marner for a mid-6 center, 24-year old forward, a goalie prospect and a 2nd just doesn't seem a package that would make this team better.

Lindholm is way better defensively than Rielly. Terry is a top 6F at 1 mill, Dostal is a top level goalie prospect , Henrique provides solid middle 6 play for 3 mill, and the cap space can be used to sign Saad and more. Huge win

So Toronto trades Anaheim Marner for that package and just gives them Rielly for free?

Probably better defensively, but it's not that big of an achievement as Rielly is more or less a pure offensive D-man.

For a top6 F Terry has really poor point statistics. I wouldn't buy a guy with a career high of 20 points a year as a top6 forward, even if he has potential. Especially in an offensively capable team like Toronto. I think you're overselling on Terry quite big here.

Dostal is a solid goalie prospect, but to be fair a goalie prospect is not something TOR is looking for right now. They need to get better now, not add on future assets.

They win in cap, but they also need to garner quality here. I have this nagging feeling it's lacking here. I'm not a fan of Marner's in any way, but if this is the best they can do, they should just keep the guy.

Since when do top 6 forwards have career highs in points of 20 and goals of 7? By those standards Toronto had 11 top 6 guys this season.

troy terry and Mitch Marner were taken in the same draft. Terry has 48 career points. He has never had more than 34 points per 82 and has never averaged even 15 minutes a game. How is he a top 6 player?

its a brutally bad trade for toronto and i hate toronto

I see you found a lot of the people that don’t watch anyone besides their own team and just look at point totals to judge a player.

I’m not doing that as a duck fan. $10M wingers just don’t seem to be the smartest plays. And I take Lindholm 10 times out of 10 over Reilly. Lindholm could carry a Dcore in the playoffs. No chance of Reilly doing that.
