Marc Bergevin

Created by: Leafsfaninvancity
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 26, 2021
Published: Jun. 26, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think he's removed alot of doubt from Montreal fans building a team that not only is in the cup finals, but has a flexible cap situation (ie reasonable dollar amounts to important players) and a ton of draft picks. I wish we could have this in Toronto :(

If MTL had lost in 5 against Toronto, everyone would still be against him

Honestly I am still against him, the players are winning dispite MB not because of him. IMO he has gotten extremely lucky that Price has kept us in the playoffs and Weber and Petry have been able to lock things down in front of him. Our top players are not scoring and our bottom pairing is still a hot mess at best.

I agree our bottom pairing is a mess, but that’s on whoever decide to not play Romanov-Kulak and we need to tank to have good player with real talent

From the TSN article:
“[Skills coach] Paul Vincent said a day later he was called into a meeting at the team hotel in San Jose with team president John McDonough, general manager Stan Bowman, vice-president of hockey operations Al MacIsaac, and [team sports psychologist James] Gary. Vincent said he asked the team executives to go to the sex crimes unit of the Chicago police department. Vincent said they refused.”

So Bergevin, Cheveldayoff, Quennville were not in the meeting.

His offence is down this year. If he had a year like last he could demand 4-5 million. I would not go North of 3.5 mill, maybe on a one year deal.

He’ll get at least 6.5 on the open market, and with the addition of him, the Habs will have great depth down the middle.
