The New Blues

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. Justin Faulk to the Kraken in the expansion draft. Connection with the GM Francis, maybe the Blues need to add a sweetener. He was good this year but if they can get rid of that long-term contract that might be best.
2. Capitals trade. The Blues need to get tougher is why the need Dillon. I don't know how the Capitals view Schulz but it seems as if they need cap relief. For a second line right defenseman for one year not bad.
3. I heard the Golden Knights couch is not big on Reeves, I gave away the two I did because they don't contribute much and they'd be cheap depth for Vegas. As for Reeves, we're getting tougher, again.
4. The free agent pickups: My thoughts were versatility with grit.
5. The Tkachuck trade: I might be crazy. I have no idea. Tarasenko, gives the potential for scoring, but yeah POTENTIAL. Dunn, if they lose Giordano in the expansion or he retires soon the Flames will need a second pairing lefty defenseman this year or next. Add in Husso or not, they'll need a backup and the Blues need to get a veteran that can push Binnington. Maybe it takes more than one first.

yeah no idea why Faulk is being exposed, he was excellent this year

I don't see the Blues giving up Faulk, the right side of the D is no deep so they more likely give Krug than Faulk, However, I think they keep both. I would much rather have Scandella and the potential of Kostin than Dillon and Schultz. Scandella is a relatively cheap buyout option if they need in the future. On the Tkachuk trade, Calgary will want at least Thomas or Kyrou added into that trade and Thomas is mostly likely the one there since he is buried on the 3rd line with ROR and Schenn ahead of him at center. Also if a goalie were to be added to that trade it would be Hofer, Husso will be fine as a backup and Ellis is the in pipeline so Hofer is expendable

Thomas is not buried, and he;s not going anywhere, especially in a trade for his best buddy. That would just piss Tkachuk right the hell off. And Hofer is in no way expendable. He's better than Ellis. You nailed the rest dead center.
