LE dump isn't a 1st, Pilut isn't a solid prospect he's 25 and still in KHL. Brock Boeser has a better shot than Sam yet he also hasn't hit 30 goals. No that trade isn't fair value. If that's too much to give then it's most definitely too much from Vancouver

Pilut isn't in the KHL because of lack of skill. He left the NHL on his own accord because the team was so bad. He's a very solid prospect who just wants a chance to succeed in the league. Never said LE was worth a 1st alone. Boeser isn't playing on the worst team in the league so if he can't score 30 on the Canucks he's definitely never doing that on a team like Buffalo. Reinhart's shooting pct was better than Brock's last season and he was on a much worse team.
Exactly Reinhart had an uncharacteristicly higher than normal shooting pct. That's not his norm, it's a one off. Boeser finally has is strength and shot back he may get over 30 next yr and on Buff to as he'd be the best shooter, but Sam on Van won't
He's consistently had a high shooting pct. This wasn't a fluke. Again Brock has never played on a team like Buffalo so you can never assume how well he would play. Everyone thought Dahlin was unbustable until Buffalo found a way to break him.

Lol ask Detroit what they got last year for their 1 year cap dump they took. Yzerman must feel stupid then.
BTW no that isn't the cost.

Did Detroit trade Reinhart to New York too?

Yes, that is the cost. Reinhart is worth a 1st + a prospect. Erikkson would cost the 2022 2nd to dump.

you asked if he had the ability to do it in the past and he has....

Um he’s never scored more than 25 before.

He's just never broken 25 points. Kind of a bust don't you think?

He very well could be. I don’t have a crystal ball at what he’ll be in the next couple of years.

I think Dahlin is still good actually, I don't think he's broken. Just the wrong coaches and poor deployment.
Buffalo needs better coach and assistants.
I think Terry is the wrong owner for this franchise him and his wife had made a lot of ad Choices fro the get go in who should run this team

Yeah the owners suck and they get way too involved. Dahlin was broken until Granato fixed him. The only players that haven't been broken were Eichel and Reinhart. Everyone else's career was ruined in some sort of way. This franchise is ****ed for life.

Sorry my misunderstanding, thought you meant all that for LE dump.
I do agree that Sam will get a 1st + prospect but I doubt it's a top 10 first with a prospect. I could see a team like Minny giving up their 1st + a prospect. But for your team I hope I wrong and it's more

Granato does come from a very respectable and intelligent hockey family. I think Buffalo can be turned around in 2 years time, especially with the correct trades of Je, SR, RR. The ****ty thing is Buffalo is in the hardest division in the league, complete opposite of the Canucks

Yeah hopefully teams like Boston age out and open a window but for now Buffalo is going to stay in the basement.

Reinhart by himself wouldn't get multiple 1sts, but you're adding Eriksson with it. He'll still count 4M against the cap if you buy him out, plus a 1M cap hit next year too. This is the flat cap era. Dumping contracts ain't cheap. It would be at minimum a 2021st + 2022 2nd + a prospect.

Marc Staal got moved with a 2nd round pick for future considerations just last off-season in the flat cap era:

Staal (1 year remaining):
Cap hit - $5.7M
Signing bonus - $1M
Base salary - $3.2M
Total salary - $4.2M

Eriksson (1 year remaining):
Cap hit - $6M
Signing bonus - $1M
Base salary - $3M
Total salary -$4M

So what makes Eriksson's contract so much harder to dump than Staal's? Sure Eriksson's cap hit is $300K higher, but his actual money owed is $200K less.

It'll cost a 2nd round pick at most to dump Eriksson. He likely won't be in a Reinhart deal but if he was it wouldn't cost much more than Eriksson, a B level prospect, and the 9th overall pick. I'd guess something like the 9th overall pick + Gadjovich + Eriksson

The dude hasn't hit his prime and he was playing on the worst team in the league. Not smart to compare his younger years when he was only 22 or 23 years old. 2 1sts and a cap dump is exactly his value at that age. Adding in a solid prospect like Pilut is honestly too much for Buffalo to give.

According to statistics he has likely hit his prime. Most players today hit their prime at 24-25.

Reinhart isn't worth "1st plus a prospect" when that 1st is 9th overall.. the 9th overall is all he's worth. So it would be:
9th overall = Reinhart
Gadjovich = cost to move Eriksson

No he's worth 9th + Gadjovich on his own. Add in the 2nd for Eriksson.

Lmao. No they're not. I get that Eriksson is a cap dump but he can be bought out for only $875K less than his cap hit (if he's buried in the minors). & there's no chance Buffalo gets multiple 1sts for Reinhart 😂

Then keep Eriksson

Pilut left the team because Botterill wouldnt promote him despite being more than NHL ready
