Description
First, off this is my first GM thing so bear with me if this is bad. Like a lot of teams, Covid has made an impact but I think it has severely crippled the yotes. I do not see them spending to the cap, and trying to save. The trades with taking on contracts allow the yotes to recoup draft picks and I tried to build a younger defense that will allow a Chychrun, Soderstrom and Vaakanainen to grow. This team would probably contend for a good lottery pick this year and as the defense grows, could work to be a playoff team in 2-3 years IMO. Let me know if any of my ideas are trash, thanks.

I think most, if not all, teams would be inclined to accept those deals. I don't love them all for ARI and think you could get more back in a couple, but that's ok.

Not exactly the direction I'd go (especially nearly 50% retention on OEL), but you've grabbed a lot of necessary picks in the process -- so good on that.

Realistic option for the Kings, short-term, legit top-6 player. I could see it, if the free agency options don't pan out.

I don't think that's enough for Dumba, is it?

I think that’s a very fair deal for both the Oilers and the Yotes!

Welcome to CapFriendly!

I'm really impressed! This is by far the best initial effort I've seen on CF.

As my esteemed colleague @tryger says, if the Kings are interested in Kessel (and RW is a weakness for us), then that's an entirely appropriate and acceptable package for him.

The Edmonton trade is right on value, but the Oilers can get rid of Neal simply by buying him out for $1,916,667 for each of the next four years and save the first-round draft pick. However, Kuemper is probably worth the first, so you should work on that kind of trade.

Minnesota adherents are fond of the Dumba-Schmaltz swap (straight up).

I've seen a lot of Boston posts lately speculating on an OEL-to-Beantown deal, some of which involved either DeBrusk or Vaakanainen. Despite the other comment, I think that the high retention would persuade Boston to take this offer.

Congratulations!

That OEL deal is closer than most, but i still don’t think the bruins take it. Frankly i don’t think they want anything to do with OEL.
