Why let Jost walk when he'd be cheaper at 3C? That right there probably makes up the difference to sign Grubauer. I also don't agree with the Hoffman signing. A good player for sure, but we don't need to be paying a 3rd line winger $4m a year. Imagine Saad makes more as well

Welcome to CapFriendly!

It seems to me that you're putting an awfully low value on Compher and Donskoi, especially because it appears to me that you're moving them just to bring in Hoffman, who is a serious defensive liability.

Thats a fair comment regarding josty, but im not sure how I feel about grubs hes a good goalie but I just dont get that ultra confidence when he is in the cage, I think ullmark is a good goalie on an awful team. I still don't think saad gets much more then that personally "if" he stays with the Avs, the adds of granlund and hoffman were meant to add some more depth and secondary scoring which I felt were missing once Kadri was suspended, once he was gone I thought it shifted the whole line-up out of whack as others were having to play up, and felt granlund might give more depth if we lost someone at the centre position. If you look at the Depth of tampa you can never have to much depth on your team. Thanks for the comment though it was my first post!

Losing your 2C and seeing a drop in offense will be true of just about any team in the NHL. I think Tampa with Cirelli last year was just playoff magic, and you saw his production take a hit this year. Ullmark could definitely be the guy, but Grubby's been consistent and that's what the Avs need with arguably the best defense in the league. You don't need perfection, just consistency and he's been a model of that for about three years now. I'd be okay with Granlund, but Hoffman is too much IMO.
