Agree with both you guys, JT needs to go, his contract is weighing us down, and limiting moves we are able to make. I didn't think the Expansion draft was going to impact our roster as much as it has! the Vegas draft we lost pickard and that's it. because of Seattle we have lost Donskoi, Graves and Grubauer. The flat cap couldn't have come at a worse time for our franchise as well.

Asking price is prolly to high from the teams he would want to go to, which...shocker is prolly why he hasn't moved yet...ask will have to come down for him to be moved. typically doesn't go well for the team trying to trade a player who has said he wants a trade, and that he was upset with how they managed his injuries. lol
in your mind what would be fair value from us for vlad?

Thats way to much for Saad, Timmins and Jost.
They should be trading for Kemper (hopefully being able to send Compher the other way) and sign the three you mentioned to reasonable deals.

Lots of us Avs fans are potentially about to be proven wrong!!! (myself included)
I thought all along the Cale deal was a no brainer I was thinking it would have been 9 mill / 8 years not 6.
in regards to Grubby im not a huge fan of his, I miss varly personally. So I would be fine if theres a good value replacement for him.
But I for sure was the guy who was yelling at people saying there is no way Landy doesn't sign, and that he wont get as much money as people have said that he would, and I may be about to be proven totally wrong and look like an idiot lol. (we will see)
you win some and lose some I suppose.

Arizona retained $990,000.00 on the OEL deal, so thats only a $6,270,000.00 cap hit, thats a hell of a good player on that contract if you ask me. *EDIT* I was wrong.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeastModeUnknown</b></div><div>look at your team amount 9 Million you need a goaltender better than Gruabauer and I'll tell ya what it's gonna be 5-8 Million dollars for a reliable goalie. Landeskog wants 9-10 Million only willing to take a slight hometown discount deal to most likely 8.5 Million, MacKinnon most likely makes near or more than what McDavid makes. Jost is going to be an upped. You add it all up you get around 30 million added into that and that doesn't include any of the depth pieces you have to make a team worth your while.</div></div>
I guess we will have to wait and see once Landy signs, we can talk about what he wants all day long, but one look at the recent deals will tell you that hes not going to get 8.5 million with the avs and will not get 9-10 in the open market unless its a **** team (he was not able to come to terms with Seattle who has tones of cap space to work with) Hall at $6 mill, Nugent Hopkins at $5.125 a Flat cap dont see gabriel getting what he "reportedly wants" in this market. Grubby will prolly be signed for $6 mil by us (for better or for worse) and Nate has said multiple times he wants rings not money, so he will sign a fair value deal for himself but it wont over what McDavid makes, that whole Erik Johnson salary could go to Nate. I think as long as they keep the core together (Nate, Makar, Mikko, (insert 5-8 million Goalie), Landy) and can sign good value players they will be more then Fine. Teams have to learn how to lose before they learn to win the Avs core is still very young Tampa, Washington, St. Louis all had to lose alot before they won.

Are you saying Makar, Mack and Grubauer all make 10 million plus each individually? Because Makar will be around 9, Mack around 10-12.5 and Grubauer 5.5-6.5 ish, if they sign gabriel and all those guys are signed that's keeping the "core" together who knows what byram and newhooks next deals will be valued. They will have more then enough money to sign the guys you have listed (Mack & Makar & Grubby) saad bura and kadri may have to be replaced by other guys down the line no doubt LOL

Just personal opinion to be honest, I think hes an underrated good size d-man with a good shot, that can move. The cap hit for him is too high for sure though, signed a little lower he could be used back and forth with Timmins.

Agreed the only thing being those are shorter term deals, where as Gabe would be looking for a longer term. So it's paying two guys that 9 million for a couple years (then reassess what UFA's are available in a couple years.) Versus Gabe being well overpaid for 6-7-8 years.

You could add a prospect or two to the Calgary trade I don't follow them close enough to know who their quality prospects would be. IMO Tarasenko brings more value then Burakovsky to the Avs (I may be in the minority there) Tarasenko when healthy is a 30-40 goal scorer (he wants to leave St. Louis because of how they handled his injuries)

Parise, if he were willing to accept a checking-line role at that price would also be decent but there are better players available.</div></div>
Yeah I agree, I dont think its possible for the Avs given their current situation to buyout EJ, its better to ride it out for the next two years and have that space be dedicated towards Nates new deal what ever that number is going to look like! some where in the 10.5-12 million dollar range I would expect. But who knows the way EJ's last 2 seasons have gone he may get hurt again and end up on LTIR.

I would say keep Toews and Makar together they work off of each other really well, and then run Suter with Girard, Suter is a big mobile d-man who can be physical when he has to and would compliment G really well.
Toews - Makar
Girard - Suter
Byram - EJ

Landy will not be signed for $8,00,000 its a flat cap, the market has changed, he may get that price tag somewhere else, but if he wants to stay with the Avs he will be signed some where in the $6,850,000 - $7,250,000.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Foppa21</b></div><div>Why let Jost walk when he'd be cheaper at 3C? That right there probably makes up the difference to sign Grubauer. I also don't agree with the Hoffman signing. A good player for sure, but we don't need to be paying a 3rd line winger $4m a year. Imagine Saad makes more as well</div></div>
Thats a fair comment regarding josty, but im not sure how I feel about grubs hes a good goalie but I just dont get that ultra confidence when he is in the cage, I think ullmark is a good goalie on an awful team. I still don't think saad gets much more then that personally "if" he stays with the Avs, the adds of granlund and hoffman were meant to add some more depth and secondary scoring which I felt were missing once Kadri was suspended, once he was gone I thought it shifted the whole line-up out of whack as others were having to play up, and felt granlund might give more depth if we lost someone at the centre position. If you look at the Depth of tampa you can never have to much depth on your team. Thanks for the comment though it was my first post!
