Hawks accept. We can retain to help with cap. Glad to see Kieth properly being viewed as an asset and Neal as a dump. You can keep Laggeson if you want but we are glad to take him also

i see him as being a great fit with Bouchard to help the kid be better defensively as he's more offensive-minded but to help with cap neal goes other way, and laggeson is replacement possible bottom pair guy with ok upside

I was about to say something similar, but I’d swap out Laggeson with a mid to late round pick.

Don't mind the free agent contracts. Only thing is i am unsure about Hyman. The guy had his first "breakout' season playing in a top 6 that was one of the best in the league. With Nuge resigned, the Oilers need legitimate goal scorers. Arvidsson would have been a nice add. Saad and Hoffman have good potential to fit and will likely be cheaper. With Arvidsson off the block, guys like Hertl, Meier could be nice adds if the price was right.

Barrie needs to come in under $5M. I would be fine giving him 4 or 5 years to keep the AAV lower.

Samsanov is interesting. Even after some off ice issues, I would be pretty shocked if the Caps are even listening to offers. Would be nice to get a young guy with really high potential.

Not crazy about the Hawks trade. Keith is a fraction of the player he was. Nice veteran presence and still a strong skater, just not as quick. Any deal based around Neal-Keith would need to have retention on Chicagos side. Just giving the Oilers are entering their window. The fact that they are adding a first and Lagesson, and not getting any cap benefit simply doesn't work. Deal makes no sense for the Oilers value-wise.

yeah I have no problem with laggeson, but value wise I think it's fine without him. Plus the hawks already have a lot of guys that are "bottom pair guys with ok upside"

That trade doesn’t make sense for Washington.
