TOR-ANH Deal

Created by: Driedger18
Team: 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 4, 2017
Published: Feb. 4, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know we just claimed Marchenko off waivers and i do like him but i think this Montour idea is good as well. Leo is ok right now but i think his value will start to drop off very quickly sooner then later. He would be the perfect asset for Anaheim to add and we get a prospect d man with offensive upside and a right shot that we need. If we ever want to see what Rychel is made of this would also be the time and a way to get him into the lineup.

I doubt they would be sending those picks.

Ducks would never trade Montour for Komarov. And Rychel. LWers Leipsic and Lindberg are ahead of him with the Marlies. He doesn't deserve a change with the Leafs.

Maybe they dont send some of the picks but i think Leo is worth Montour and a pick or two. Also im fine with not calling Rychel up but this offers the Leafs a chance to see what the kids can do. Also Rychel has more of a future with the Leafs then Lindberg i believe as he is more skilled and would fill the power forward criteria they want. Just my thoughts

Leafs are in a playoff run, and aren't the charity business of seeing how "the kids" can do. Watching Rychel, to me his skating falls below NHL standards. Lindberg although not having the same stats as Rychel, to me, seems to have the skating ability and strength (sorta like Komarov) to be an NHLer. Although I'm not that high on Leipsic to be an NHLer, overall size, strength and NHL skating, he has upped his game this year and his offensive flare might find him a spot in the NHL.

Leivo outproduced Rychel significantly at the AHL level and can't crack the team...hard to see Rychel playing at all... even next year.
Looking back to last year and the acquisition of Carrick, maybe Komarov for Montour isn't that far fetched if there was some salary included in the deal - Bieksa for Polak.
